True or not, the truth of the story is in the lesson, and it was powerful.

Ah, a superb and touching short story. That movie didn't get nearly the business it deserved. hope this story has gotten a few good looks. Very well done.

I haven't seen "Cinderella Man," but I really enjoyed this story, which has such a meaningful message. I'm a Simon & Garfunkel fan, too, and "The Boxer" is one of my favourites! Great job, Mercury!

Great one-shot, my friend! This is great! I must alert my friends of your greatness. And if you don't mind, alert yours of my story because I haven't had much luck with readers. My two friends who I'm going with to the movie on Friday will want to read yours and mine, so maybe I'll get some more readers so I can post chapter 2, and you can get more reviews and be happy! So, anyway, TELL PEOPLE.

So if anyone's reading this, look in my profile for Truly A Cinderella Man and read it. NOW. lol.

I'm a walking advertisement.

Anyway, awesomeness above awesomeness. Once you see the movie, I'll be looking for another one of these!

Luv, Luv, Luv,

MJ

Very nice. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to follow it, not having seen Cinderella man, but I really enjoyed it.

I liked your editorial sentiment at the end too. It is a good point to reinforce (and one that is too easy to forget sometimes).

If I may offer one thing... I expected Angie to be younger. You talked about her childish scrawl in the letter but then her language in the note was too sophisticated for a little girl. Then you said she was 15 so obviously she's older than I thought. It just seemed to me that she'd have better handwriting at 15 (in those days, I think a lot more emphasis was put on learning your cursive letters).

Just a small point that confused me... but overall, a great piece from you as always!

Oh, Merc! This was absolutely beautiful! You handled that thin line between poignant and maudlin with your usual aplomb. Well done, my friend, very well done!
