| Neferius 2008-06-08 ch 9, | abuseExcellent work on this story. I had started reading it about eight months ago, give or take, but had stopped reading it for various reasons. Now that I've finally finished this I can say that I was quite pleased with the whole package. I'm an equal fan of Rei and Asuka, so it was nice to see the redhead get help as well as be slightly involved in the story. A lot of times when Shinji is paired with one girl, the other is cast aside and forgotten. It didn't feel that way with Asuka which was a major plus for me. Your overall psychiatric advice was pretty good, I'm no expert but I could see plenty of useful advice. The growth in both Shinji and Rei had a pretty steady pace and didn't feel rushed. The bit with Maya at the end was also a good touch to show how understanding Rei really could be. Once again, excellent work Funvice. Read ya Later. |

Then again, this style does somewhat fit the therapy process on which it is built, so it could be seen as a stylistic choice, I suppose. |

As a Shinji/Rei shipper, it pleases me to no end to see a story where someone can build a relationship between them without writing one of the two blatantly out of character, or worse yet, reducing them and the supporting cast (Asuka especially) to a series of one-dimensional, cliched stock characters. A good story should develop such that everything feels natural, like the characters are living and making their own decisions free of the force of the author's pen, and this most definitely feels that way. Top notch effort. |
