Yes, I love happy endings, but every once in a great while a depressing ending throws you back into reality. As for the story: A fine piece of work that should be hung on a wall in a museum. That was excellent, especially the part with Lindsay. That sounded like something I would have done when I was little. But anyway, great story and I hope to read your next CGR.
