Margot Le Faye 2009-01-10 . chapter 1I'm devastated to realize I didn't leave a review when I originally read this fic some months back. My only excuse is that I may have been too stunned to write the kind of review a fic like this deserves. Not that I'm sure I can do much better right now.
If this had been the only story you ever wrote, I would have been beyond impressed. The structure of it, telling the tale in reverse, slowly revealing the layers, each revelation adding new context and increased meaning to what has gone before is a stroke of genius. So much more powerful an effect than a straigtforward chronological order would have produced. Then there is the impact of the individual scenes, the use of language, the sheer devastation of what is going on from moment to moment, the characters struggling to carry on despite how hopeless it is.
The level of Draco's evil in this is breathtaking. He quite consciously destroys everything and everyone around her--as another reviewer pointed out, possibly even including a bit of her sanity--in order to make her completely his. Not simply utterly dependent upon him, but clinging to him as her 'savior'--from a horror he inflicted upon her, himself.
So, as I said, if this were the only thing you'd ever written, I'd already be impressed. But, the fact is, you've also written the wonderfully romantic, whimsical and delightful "Respected Elf Enslaver" and the subversive, hysterically funny "Tragidy" So, when I consider "Suger Cookies" in that light, it tells me that you have an incredible range as a writer, and that you are just wonderfully talented.
I agree that this story deserves far more reviews than it has gotten, and far more appreciation than it has been shown. But, please believe that it is well appreciated nonetheless. |
cmedina2002 2008-12-20 . chapter 1This was really unsatisfying...Why was she so hungry? She needed Draco to get satiated? Is that it? Or was it just the need for human contact? I feel very dumb.
Anywho, nice writing skills. |

 chaosinparis 2006-03-07 . chapter 1Oh, wow. Just..wow.
I love it. One of a kind. I love the direction of the story. I love how the characters seemed so believable. I love the description of the surroundings. And I simply love all the emotion in it. It's just..guh..Awesome. |
amwong88 2006-02-13 . chapter 1hm...brilliant writing firstly. Really enjoyed the way you described things and it was certainly very intense and believable.
Just wasn't quite sure what happened really. Was there some specific reason Hermione is so hungry all the time? i mean, besides the fact that they were on the run and starving? at first, i was wondering if draco had slipped her a little something to make her hungry for him, rather than food. |
 ? 2006-01-24 . chapter 1 rather excellent :) deserves many more reviews, so i'm adding one. |
Sharon 2005-12-07 . chapter 1 WOW. That was intense! |

AmberJupiter 2005-10-23 . chapter 1The story structure, the plot, the reverse time line, everything, done like a professional. Your story was written beautifully, it was simply spectacular. I'm, in awe, no joke. |

UrNodens 2005-09-13 . chapter 1Okay, now... this was psychotic. Absolutely evil... and yet, fun to read. I rather like the reverse-chronological order, which actually manages to make a rather dark, miserable-feeling story have a somewhat cheerful ending. I sense a sadistic streak here, a playful enjoyment of twisting the knife we forget is so easily slipped in. Oh yes, quite nice. Now... I need to go collapse, as I have to be up in under six hours, and I never seem to get anywhere *near* enough sleep. |
Greenaleydis 2005-08-09 . chapter 1That was absolutely incredible.
And at the end, I understood - they were the ingredients. Oh, this fic is truely art.
Keep writing!

P.S. I will vote for you! |
