i...really like this. there's something so great in the tension you have going there, something that makes sense because Zabuza -wouldn't- take Haku like that, like so many other authors (mistakenly) assume, because Haku really is a tool, and he's not ready yet. Even if Haku isn't stupid and knows and will give himself up, he only thinks of it as a service. Because that's all he thinks about. and the fact that other things happen--that this encounter wasn't the entirety of the story is gold--because that's the truth. they're ninja, Zabuza is a criminal,and Haku is his, well, servant-apprentice, and that's the way they live.

Another wonderful fic full of scrumptious characterization. ^.^ Zabuza cares for Haku in his own gruff way, just as Haku is completely devoted to him. I like how Zabuza isn't willing to just jump Haku's bones, even if Haku' soffering. He knows Haku isn't quite mature enough, yet, despite his willingness to give everything to Zabuza. Loverly. ^_^

Not bad. Very realistic in a Naruto kind of sense without being overly cloying. It felt very Zabuza like of him the way he interacted with Haku. I think you did a good job of this pairing.
