I loved the reference to the moonshine Hilts, Goff, and Hendley made, and like another reviewer mentioned, the fact that we get to see the pilot side of Willie. Just brilliantly done all over, and the end was especially fantastic. Thanks for a great read.

Ever since I saw The Great Escape for the first time I've thought that Danny and Willy's relationship was one of the most beautiful friendships ever captured on film, and I definitely thought how sweet it would be if there was something more than just friendship :) Thank you for that!

This is really a wonderful fic; the character detail is excellent, and it actually seems to add something to the canon. I especially like that Willie "sits on the roof of the apartment building and stares at the sky because he cannot be in it". I don't usually think about the characters as pilots, somehow, only as prisoners, and it was interesting to see that aspect of them dealt with. And the line about the "shattered-glass brilliance" of his smile was lovely. Once again, thank you.
