khwhitelion 2009-11-24 . chapter 1 ...too lazy to log in...
Wow! This is the first real great wonka story I've read in a long time! It's so hard to find a story that doesn't have ocs:and a wilder wonka fic no less!
Anyway, this was fantastic! |
kuro's girl 2008-10-07 . chapter 1This is probably one of the best stories I ever read. I like your style. I'm also a big fan of Wilder's version of Willy. |
Americ's Pet 2007-10-27 . chapter 1Aw! That is so adorable! :D Really freaky and I actually had a mind to hit both Charlie and Wonka at different times in this chapter but . . . aw! :D :D :D :D You captured something . . . I didn't ever really dream of, and I am a VERY well know dreamer! That was so sweet and sour at the same time it blended into something so wonderful! Thank you, keep writing!
Sincerely

Aloe 2006-03-25 . chapter 1 Oh-- this is simply brilliant. Well done, indeed. I think Dahl would have liked it. :) |
breadandchoc 2005-09-18 . chapter 1Ah... this was wonderful. A heart-warming combination of tension and an inexplicable friendship.
Brilliant. :) |
 Padawan Jan-AQ 2005-08-22 . chapter 1Aw, sweet story. :) Happy ending. Thank you! |
Number VIII - Axel 2005-08-17 . chapter 1it's refreshing to see a wilder!wonka fic amongst all of the depp!wonka suefics. :) nice work, i'm definitely adding this one to my faves. |
Maleficent Angel 2005-08-10 . chapter 1A wonderful, wonderful take on the books and the '71 movie. I confess to never being entirely comfortable with Wonka in the novels (as a child, I found the whole 'oompa-loompas were turned into minuses' thing in the Great Glass Elevator disturbing, but then I was young) and the role of the Oompa-Loompas is basically as a slave race.
Excellent, just excellent. |
IDOL HANDS 2005-08-05 . chapter 1I completely concure with your A/N ! An ambiguity in the morals - that's Dahl for you and life itself actaully. I really enjoyed this story, it made me see a point of view that I totally missed. Your writing moved quite nicely right from the start. I could imagine Charlie pressed against those bars. I liked that Charlie got Wonka as upset as he was and they were both crying in the end. That made sense with thier characters and yet, Charlie didn't realize the power of his own words untill they were outloud. That's typical of a teenager. You then concluded the whole thing very well, so that I didn't have to be left hating either party. Brava! |
queen of the imps 2005-07-24 . chapter 1I absolutely love, love, LOVE your Wonka fics. I've read all three and liked them all, and this one is my favorite. The comparison between the Oompa Loompas and slaves was interesting, and I love your portrayals of Wonka and Charlie. All in all, excellent. |
Rachel 2005-07-22 . chapter 1 This story was an unexpected gem for me ~ I had read your earlier Holmes stories (which I loved) and was checking in to see if there had been any updates, and lo and behold! This story was beautifully written and it really touched me ~ I think you have made both Wonka and Charlie very likeable but very complex characters. The moment when Charlie returns and Wonka won't accept an embrace until he gets him through the bars really struck a chord for me. And I love the 'snapping taffy' as a barometer mark idea ~ you've tapped into this bizarre world beautifully. And I respect Charlie a lot in this story ~ he has not only grown up, but grown up well. Thanks so much for writing. By the way, I am a fan of Gene Wilder's performances in "Young Frankenstein" and "The Producers," if you're looking for recommendations. His place as a comic genius was confirmed when Mel Brooks decided not to film the "Puttin' on the Ritz" number in Young Frankenstein because he thought there was no way to make it work, and Wilder begged for the chance to show him it would work perfectly ~ Brooks agreed to let him try, and it's one of the funniest things in the movie. |
 TheHomicidalManiac777 2005-07-22 . chapter 1that was sweet...very well written. |
Kae 2005-07-20 . chapter 1 I agree with Island Hopper (I think it was you who said that). If you're looking for Wilder at his best, the Producers is the way to go. I love his blue blankie, and love it even more when they try to take it away from him...Hehehehe. |
Super Lizard 2005-07-19 . chapter 1Aw. *sniff* For a '71-based fiction, this is pretty good. *smirk*
I declare you my Willy Wonka Fiction Arch-Nemisis! We shall get together on Thursdays and drink tea and discuss our differences. If you like, you can be the fiction hero and I'll be your arch-nemisis. Whatever.
Let me know what you think.
