A piece that caters beautifully to the L/S camp, and the non L/S camp, what you read into this fic is all about how you want to see it. Scotty's emotions were expressed in a clear, straightforward fashion, his fear and impatience ringing through the words. I hope you do more fics, because I admire your style of writing.

You sure managed to get a lot across in just a few paragraphs. It's a short fic, but very nicely written and I do believe it's what Scotty was thinking during those few suspenseful moments. The lack of L/S doesn't bother me, I really think there's more friendship in the show than anything else and too much fluff would have made it less believable.
