Good job showing that the best player doesn't always win, because many factors contribute to winning. It's good you had Fuji said that along with winning: shows he's a prodigy. Besides, one person can't always remain the best player. People and situations change.

It's not also OOC because Echizen does tend to become self-assured especially after he defeated the number one junior tennis player, Sanada...And Fuji is just the right person to teach him that lesson since out of the Tennis players in POT, I believe he is the most insightful and he truly wants to help his friends grow...

Tedian 2005-07-25 ch 1,	abuseLoved the fic, this is how they should have ended PoT ;-).Can't agree more on this little bit: "To his credit, Ryoma didn't get angry. He didn't cry (not that anyone would have expected him to) or fall to his knees as though he'd just lost a battle and was about to be executed." Of course, if you added my personal take on the irritating habit, "as though prepared to go down on the victor", it would probably upped the rating ;-)
yamatoforever 2005-07-21 ch 1,	abuseThat's make me wonder if Fuji had played with all his power when he played with Tezuka. But it is a good lesson indeed. So Ryoma would learns to not underestimate anyone just because everyone (and himself) thinks he is a better player than his opponent.
