I hope you're right because the alternative simply destroys the credibility and moral underpinnings of her universe for me.

Cecelle suggested to me that the argument Hagrid heard was Dumbledore telling Snape that he'd have to fulfil the Vow and kill him when the time came and that killing Dumbledore was the only sure way of saving Harry from the Death Eaters (and BTW, the other students from Fenrir who'd have been happy for an excuse to linger). The only question then is why did Snape make the Unbreakable Vow? Does he owe some binding obligation to the Malfoys or is Draco more important than we've ever been given reason to suppose?

i really like it and ur right of course! dumbledore wouldnt do that! i am completely of the mind that dumbledore knew of snapes vow and was trying to ask snape to kill him to a. protect the order and its secrets gained by snape spying and b. protect draco from having to commit murder or be killed by the death eaters when he couldnt. great scenario tho, ttyl

No, leave it! I agree with you that Dumbldore was not begging for his life. I too think that Snape has gone under deep cover (as it were). But boy does his life suck now! If only he hadn't made that vow!

I also had an idea for a one shot but as I've two stories here and one in re-write for SugarQuill it's not getting done any time soon. Well, unless the muses force me.

I like your experiment. Leave it up.

Thank goodness- I'm not the only one who was bothered by the idea of Albus begging for his life.

So he wasn't begging. He was ASKING.

Problem right now being figuring out exactly WHAT Albus was asking of Snape and all that entailed.

Good story.
