Perceptive :p This is what I thought happened, too, and I was SO glad when it did.

I have to say this, even if it's been said a lot already.

This line: "... as if he is about to kill his father to save his son." It's amazing. x_x So amazing.

Nice. I like.
My favorite line was, "He has no right to feel, even for the briefest second, as if he is about to kill his father to save his son."

Yep... I'm wondering how he's going to come back in the seventh book. My sister and I are convinced that he's still a good guy.

But that's beside the point! Your story is wonderful in its details and characterization. Brief and compelling-- exquisite!

I really liked this line: He has no right to feel, even for the briefest second, as if he is about to kill his father to save his son.

This is also my hypothesis about Snape. I do hope JKR is thinking along these lines.

This was actually sitting in the back of my head as I was reading the HBP, because it was just a bit...off. Of course I still think Snape is SCUM but maybe there's a deeper reason, and you've protrayed that beautifully.

This is a lovely take on these shocking events. I really really like the way you've written it, especially your characterisation of Severus. "as if he is about to kill his father to save his son" is my favourite line in this fic, because it's so true.

I think you'd enjoy my fic Vow and Sacrifice, based on these events.

^-^...I love Snape, and always like to think that he has better intentions then he verbaly suggests...Makes me a bit like Dumbledore then, eh? Wonderful story...It's really what I would want to imagine going through Snape's head before he did the deed...Good job

I've read this version of things before, and I like the way you portrayed it. Charectorization of Snape is interesting; I especially like the "kill the father to save the son" line. Keep it up!

Brilliant. It's nice to see some authors ahven't jumped ship on liking Severus because of HBP. I too think that something like this is closer to the truth...

Superb evocation of atmosphere in your first few descriptive paragraphs.
'the kind of pallor that does not happen in a day' - astute insight into Dumbledore's gradual decline.
I wholly agree with this interpretation - there are probably more of us Snape supporters out here than you think!
