A bit shaky. But you pulled it off! Wonderfully constructed poem (the translation, that is) and I don't think that many people could have done this. In fact, you're the only authoress I know on to have ever written a poem in Elvish.

I'm not quite geeky enough to have taught myself Sindarin, and am thus unable to appreciate it in its intended form, but the translation certainly sounded interesting.

You used "The Languages of Middle-earth, written by Ruth S. Noel" as a reference? No wonder it's so shaky! _THROW THAT BOOK OUT RIGHT NOW._ That book is so outdated it's funny. It was published before most of Tolkien's work on the Elven languages was revealed to the public; therefore it only has information you can find in the back of the Silmarillion and in the Lord of the Rings.

So...which languages’ grammar and syntax are you using, exactly? I suggest Sindarin grammar, syntax, and lexicon because that's the Elven language in common usage in Middle-earth. I'll help you a bit by translating the first few lines.

Im róniel ann i ardhon, I have long wandered the earth,
a nauth nîn palan-dôl. and my memory is from afar.

In Quenya it might be:

Andavë aránien arda, I have long wandered the earth,
Ar háya tulë sanwenya. and my memory is from afar.

Gîl síla erin lû e-govaded vín! Larien i eneth nín, and I truly enjoyed your poem/song. (The translation is as follows: a star shines on the hour of our meeting, & my name is Larien.) I love elvish, and though it's mixed elvish which would normally be inncorect, I still enjoyed it and appreciate the effort put forth. I have added it to my elvish C2, The elvish library, because anyone striving to write elvish, and who has it mostly correct for the vast part, deserves some praise. So well done and keep up the good work. Granted, I too have the book by Noel, and it is a tad bit outdated, but still a good start to have under your belt. So please continue writing elvish: it's a nice change from the comon fanfiction.
