Ah, I hope you don't take this as an insult or a flame, because I'll just give my opinions.
First off, your characterization is spot on, though I would have expected Hiei to slit her throat. Just a little, even if she's going to have powers eventually. But with everything else, I'm surprised in comparison to a lot of other stories with how great the characters flow.
The story thus far has gone a little slowly, but that's understandable for an introduction.
But the pairings feel a little forced, BotanxKurama-wise. Also, Youko doesn't converse with Kurama in his mind. Does he? I've not finished the series but I've never heard of that. Please clarify. And the whole kit thing bugs me a bit. . .
My biggest problem, however, is probably Callie. To begin, I guess she kind of seems like a self-insert. Just a hunch. But when stories honor their characters in such a way it just kind of seems like it. None of her character flaws sit right (or exist), because they have human substance and just serve to make her a bit of an anti-Sue, very, very close to the Mary Sue. I don't think she's cute. She's kind of annoying.
But then, that's just my opinion.
I feel like I would love this story if Callie didn't annoy me like she does, but I hope you don't take offense to my review. Keep writing. :)

I honestly have no idea how often you update...but update son!! I want to hear the explanations and I want to read what Kurama and Hiei's and everyone eles's reaction is going to be to her return! GAH UPDATE...

I liked the ending, I think it was perfect for this story. It summed everything up, just like it needed to, and yet let a hole for the next piece. It's enticing.

Like I said, I really enjoyed it.

And now I get to read Wit and Courage!!

Hurray! One more chapter and I get to move onto Wit and Courage. I cannot wait. *dances*

This was really brilliant too. I'm loving the emotion and the reality in it, and like I've said before, I really like how Callie is developing. She seems to be maturing a lot, while maintaining her youthful vigor and personality.

Oh man. Only two left. I'm so excited. And I thought this was amazing, very real, and I like how Callie is developing.
