Carmina Burana 2008-12-12 . chapter 11I love this story. It's so phenomonal, I hope you'll continue this one at some point, I so enjoyed reading it.

spaceystacey 2006-06-27 . chapter 11I decided to read one of your stories after reading your review of another story complaining about too many 'Mary Sues' in Highlander stories. So I was curious what your "itsy-bitsy self-insertion" was going to be like. Well, I don't know if it's self-insertion or not, but most of Chapter 10 is pretty self-indulgent. All-in-all, I do like your writing quite a lot, even though I dislike slash stories. What's with Javert always throwing stuff on Valjean? Sand (twice), crumbs, rosary beads. Shouldn't Valjean react to any of that? As for that, I think your story could be improved by including more reactions from Valjean throughout. It's clear that the only character you care about in your story is Javert. It's also clear that you're intelligent and a good writer. Thank you for your story. I wish it were complete! |
ArgentineRose 2006-01-02 . chapter 11 Oh, bloody hell! Very interesting - and ikkle Javert is gorgeous.
However, Valjean's remark "Proclaimer of Universal Truths and Captain of the Bloody Obvious." gave me a very bizarre image of Javert-the-superhero in tights and a cape! |
 GoldenRat 2005-12-02 . chapter 11H'okay, I'm confused. |
GoldenRat 2005-10-16 . chapter 10Original crossover idea. Good writing.
Can't wait to read more! |
 Ringelsocke 2005-09-06 . chapter 9Hey,
let me guess, you spend your last summer holidays in Germany??
Schwarzwald and Schluchsee are very nice at this time of the year!
Interessting story, I read Les Miserables more than once and the idea that ValJean and Javert are immortal is funny!
But I don't agree with your meaning about Javert!
I think he is so like Hugo has written it!
Greetings

Stefanie 2005-08-25 . chapter 7 I found this in Highlander being a fan, but it was the Les Miserables which completely cuaght mu interst. The play' by far one of my favorites, and I absolutely loved the book! [Javert is my favorite character too].
Love where you're taking this, though I have to admit I'm curious to when and how Javert and Jean Valjean became so... close. |
Cha Cha1 2005-08-25 . chapter 7And the plot thickens! Dun, dun, dah! I really like the steady movement of your pacing, it may have been a little while since you posted last, but this chapter didn't miss a beat from the rhythm of the rest of the story. It's such a refreshingly different story in ingenious combination. Some folks probably haven't bothered reading your story yet because none of the usual crew from the Highlander 'verse has made an appearance, but they are cheating themselves out of a wonderful read. I've personally been doing my best to spread the word. They'll catch on if I nag long enough. At any rate, I do hope to see more. Thanks for another great chapter.
P.S. Loved the Frank Lloyed Wright reference. I live in Arizona and a lot of people from here are pretty ignorant of who he is. |
Cha Cha1 2005-08-12 . chapter 6I'm really liking this. Love the bit about the popsical, really funny. Gotta watch out for Red dye # 5! Although I've never read the book, yet, I'm really loving your portrayal of Javert. Love his snarky attitude. Nice counterpoint to Valjean. This is coming along nicely, you've got me hooked now! |
Pontmercy 2005-08-11 . chapter 1Ha. This is very amusing, though I frown over your use of language! Oh well, you're older and probably wiser than me so I shouldn't scold you. I just wanted to see if you've read Dostoevsky's works? I've just discovered his short stories- they're fantastic. 'White Nights' especially. It made me cry, and almost reminded me of Marius and Cosette except that Nastenka left him for the lodger. I was so upset. And I really like 'The Honest Thief'. Have you got any thoughts on 'Poor People' or 'The Dream of a Ridiculous Man'? I want to tackle those next. Dostoevsky's a genius- almost like Victor Hugo. I've been researching him. Absolutely fascinating. |
Cha Cha1 2005-08-04 . chapter 5Well now I've added Les Miserables to my "books to read" list. I may be the only one reviewing so far, but I think once people catch wind of how good this story is, I think you'll be getting a lot more.
What started at first as an intriguing concept has morphed into a compelling story. I can't say whether you've nailed the characters right or not (since I've never read the book) but the story itself draws you in. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of this.
The instant messanging bit threw me off a little, but otherwise your story has a good flow. Good job. |
Cha Cha1 2005-07-30 . chapter 2To be honest, I've never had the pleasure of seeing Les Miz for myself. I've known enough people who have to be familiar with it. This, however, is an interesting concept. I'm definitely intrigued and would like to see where you are planning to go with this story. I like your writing style and hope to see more in the future. |
