lovely opening, though when i read 'full moon', 'james and lily', 'die' and 'howl', then first person who comes to mind for me was Lupin.

so i got a little confused at the end when it was actuallys sirius, and didn't get it until i read it for the third time.

must be my half-asleep brain. Hm.

seriously. lovely opening. great description, loved this part: There he howls at the moon until it disappears below the horizon, replaced by the haze of early dawn.
