One thought, though: If Baeseth's vehicle had already been heavily damaged as you said, wouldn't a detonation of a vehicle-level reactor core in its immediate proximity be enough to take it out completely? Mind you, I'm not familiar with Auto Assault's universe, having not played the game yet, so I could be wrong.
