Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that I read 'Toward a Dark Horizon' all the way through over the past two nights, and I have to say that out of all the batman fics I've read on this site, yours is definitely one of the best--and likely THE best once I get moving on reading your subsequent stories.

You did a fantastic job balancing character moments with plot development, and you gave us just enough hints to make us feel smart when we guessed something correctly, but still kept the main gameplan in the dark until the very end. I was totally satisfied with the big reveal, and while the pace plodded at times toward the beginning, the breakneck speed of the last few chapters was fantastic.

I love the way you characterize Bruce--and the way others react to him. I thought the interactions between he and Dick were really well done, and I totally bought that (while being fairly precocious) Dick was actually just a little kid. I very much liked Cecilia (even though I thought at first that I would hate her) and I'm really hoping she returns for the next story. Usually I dislike stories that have multiple viewpoint characters, but you'll be glad to know that I was never disinterested or annoyed with scenes from Cecilia's or Gordon's point of view.

There's so much more praise I could heap on this story, but you've probably heard it all already, and I've still got more reading to do. :P Fantastic work; I only wish more authors could handle both character work and plot weaving the way you do.
