abuseI loved the Scarlet Pimpernel references at the beginning of the chapter. The version with Jane Seymour is definitely the best. :-)

abuseHey Mate, I love this story, the 'Mood Rings' song mention you used, the 'Holes' reference, and, again, this story! It's bloody brilliant! If the movie went like this...we can only dream...^.^

abuseWell, I just read the first three of your Bruce Wayne/Richard Grayson fics (the Nestling, Blithering Bats and this one) in three days. THREE days, when i work 10 hour days and study for another three at least. They are amazing and I can't wait to continue with the next couple. Can't wait to read more!

abuseWow! You are amazing! The way you planned this was incredible--the first chapter, where nobody knew /what/ was going on, and then the suspense with Cecilia's true motives (heck, almost everybody's true motives!), and the "aww" moments between Bruce, Dick, and Alfred, and the ginromous red herring with Dick's past, and the interaction between Rachel and Cecilia, Cecilia and Bruce, and Alfred and Cecilia (I love Cecilia!)--it's all fantastic! I was up till way too late finishing this. I just couldn't put it down! Your Joker was lovely, and Cecilia was awesome (the way she dealt with that teacher Stacy, and with pretty much anything else that got in her way, was unbelievably cool) and Bruce was believable. Bruce was that combination of intelligent and petty that is just right; the hideous golden toad and him stealing Cecilia's chapstick had me laughing. And Dick's characterization is terrific. He's still a kid, and you really get his childlike perspective across, which is good. You also capture his bravery and intelligence, without making him into an adult, which is better. I could empathize--or at least understand--all of your characters, and it was a blast. I loved reading this! Thanks for writing and posting!

abuseWow. I am practically incoherent after finishing this marvelous work of fiction over the past 24 hours. All day... I couldn't help but wonder... what was going to happen next? Marvelous characterization, especially Somerville. In Cecilia, you have created a believable female OC, something that is becoming increasingly difficult to find in the minefield of Mary Sues that litters the Batman Begins section of .
It is obvious that you have put much time and effort into creating this story, and as a reader, I am extremely grateful. Most of all, I love that you read Dorothy Dunnett. I look forward to reading more of your work.

abuseI have to tell you now that I ADORE Somerville, she's a fantastic character.
I spent all night reading this even though I had to go to work the very next day, I barely got four hours sleep, that was how hooked I was.
I'd like to point out, however, that it gets confusing when you change scenes or different character perspectives. Maybe you should leave a line or something to show the scene change?
Other then that, this is one fantastic story. :)

abuseI've never been one to read much Batman fanfiction, let alone Batman Begins, so I actually found you by accident. And to be honest, I'm not even sure you'll actually notice this review amongst the giant pile that you so richly deserved for it.

I'm in awe. Honestly, and completely. The characterizations are fantastic, and I can truly say that I will never look at that one little boy the same way. I'm in love with Bruce and Dick all over again, and even your OCs were fantastic. And yes, Rachel is evil in her horrible and cruel self-rightousness. This is what fanfiction is about: changing the way you remember its cannon.

Coincidentally, when Batman demanded to know 'Where is my son'? Best line in the whole story, hands down. I seriously squee'd.

abuseI was going to.

I really really was going to read on.

But then I saw your chapter titles and died laughing.

So I'll never find out what happens to Richard + Sommerville after this ever-so-exciting parking lot encounter with...the Joker, perhaps? I really enjoyed this brief moment of action. You've described everything with excellent detail, but never in an overly prolix manner. ^_^ Yay. Total kudos and cheers from one of your dead readers. ^_^

Hee. "Is this a chapter?" "I demand a recount!" ^_^ "What kind of name is Drury?" You win. You utterly and totally win.

abuseFor the first time EVER I have found a very slight error. Until now, you called Bubble's daddy Andrew Williams, but in this chapter, he's Charles Williams. Just thought you'd like to know.
