Nice job here-you've captured a tone of desolation, sadness, and loss.

The disjointed narrative, and the short, or trailing off sentences work very well here. One could honestly picture Dawn's internal voice running something like this, and Spike's actions fit as well.

Just one little nitpick: this obviously takes place between Seasons 5 and 6. Dawn didn't meet Kit until the first episode of Season 7, and it was Janice whom she hung around with and whose house where she slept over before that.
