Marguerite Lily 12/19/11 . chapter 1
Hello, Shisoukengo-kun 3

WOW! You totally impressed me, my dear, for coming up with this character essay about Kuwabara Kazuma. What a brilliant job of writing it, um, actually this was my first time coming across a character essay here on ffnet, thanks to you. And yes, this piece is indeed well-thought-out and very well done, imho. _

I couldn't agree more with all your clear, honest and unbiased explanations, my beloved onii-sama. Kuwa-kun is definitely the comic relief in the series and he cracks me up everytime I watched a scene of him doing some crazy stuffs, haha. He's such an adorable jerk, ne? Lol, however, I love his total package (loud and annoying included, hehe) and I wouldn't want it any other way. He's just being his true self, and eventhough he knows that he's the weakest link, he fights alongside the group showing the same passion and determination. In his case, I guess being less is more.

Kudos to you, my dear Shisou-kun! Take good care and please keep on writing and thanks so much for sharing your awesome work. I bet this truly was an eye-opener to some people so yeah, spread the love for Kuwa-kun, ne.

Ja! xoxo

Kuwabara is the shit and if anyone is ignorant enough to not see his gentle/big heart needs to find a rocket ship out of here as soon as possible!

That is all.

Cheers for this well written defense. I don't understand how anyone can bash Kuwabarat.

Well, I do understand, I was a kid when I first got into YYH so I jumped on the Hiei bandwagaon with Kurama as a second mainly because they were cute and Hiei was, lyke, so badass.

Now that's not to hate on Hiei or Kurama, I still love their characters too, but I honestly believe most Kuwabara haters have a more... well, shallow perspective of the show, like I used to. They like the characters because they're pretty boys, dark and brooding, get to say and do the most obviously badass things.

Otherwise, how could you hate Kuwabara? He's such a sweetheart.

I fully respect Kuwabara, in the full sense of the word, but while Kuwabara isn't my favorite character, I agree with you entirely. Honestly, this story really has given me a new and different insight on him.

Good for you, may I suggest The Good Offense, and it's prequel the Best Defense. It has respect for Kuwabara.

I agree with you for the most part. I like the character and think he's the most durable of the tantei(I don't even remember Yusuke recieving as much damage as Kuwabara).

So yeah, people don't seem to remember that Yusuke needed to be given the ability to use the spirit gun while Kuwabara learned his sword technique on his own.

There are a few mistakes on your part though, I believe. First off, when did Yukina and Kuwabara's love ever become "solidified"? She seemed oblivious until the end of the story(at the same time, one of the shorts that imply she knows that Heie is her brother gives the implication that she's smarter than people realize, but we never get this with Kuwabara, probably because romantic love isn't in the Koorime dictionary)

Also, people in the show refer to Kuwabara as being ugly, so he probably is(albeit, since he has fangirls by the end of the series he might not be THAT ugly). Granted, I don't think that's a good enough reason to hate someone but whatever. Nice essay.

This was really good. I have to admit (sadly) that I was one of the people who hated Kuwabara for being ugly but once the series was coming to the end, I pretty much got over myself and startede liking him more. You gotta respect a guy with an honor code. He also kept the anime really entertaining. (I'm serious. The Three Kings series wasn't the same without Kuwabara making fun of Hiei's height...) Now that you really think about it, the anime wouldn't be as good without Kuwabara. Thanks a bunch for makin' this point.

Yes!I agree with you,I love Kuwabara and what you said is true. I seen a pepole say they love Kurama and Hiei,Hiei is my fav Chareter but Kuwabara's Secend, hell if he was real i date him.
Dacheran 7/12/06 . chapter 1
Kudos man, Kudos. Kurama and Hiei are cool and all, and Yusuke is okay I guess, but Kuwabara Kazuma is definately my favorite characters.

One of my dearest wishes while watching the series is that he would train with Genkai as that would even things out a bit... but no go. I was also disappointed that he had really no role at all in the last storyarch... but at least they solidified things with Yukina with him a bit, so there is that...

Kuwabara always seemed the most regular guy-ish of the bunch.

To avoid repitition; I agree with most everything you and your reviwers say here. I have a rep for loving girly boys (Bakura (not his darker half), Gohan, etc) but the instant I was introduced to the show I decided I adored Kuwabara. Even my Hiei worshipping "All people must have dignity and pride and not be moronic in their actions" best friend loved him. And let's give him some credit for his spiritual sensitivity and the fact that he's the only comic relief worthy of attention in a fighting anime so far (Poor Kuririn, they screwed him over the day he said Mondo cool).

Rock on so to speak. It's good to see someone standing up for those unspoken for. Now all I need is a story where Muruko isn't bashed or returned to her pre-acid state.
Deep Metal 4/20/06 . chapter 1
Wow, this is one of the best essays on Yu Yu Hakusho I've ever read(not that I've really read much YYH essays at all but you get my drift).

I don't dislike Hiei or Kurama but man oh man, can those two be REALLY overrated at times by the dozens of fangirls/boys out there. I agree with you 100% that those two are placed on too high of a pedestal while all the other characters in the series get ignored.

Those people who say he's a lousy/unintelligent fighter have no idea what they're talking about. Seriously, he's the only fighter of the four who doesn't have ANY demon blood in him and he can still defeat really powerful demons like Byakko, Reisho, Elder Toguro, etc. and contrary to what the bashers say, Kuwabara DOES use his intelligence and creativity in battle from forming giant fly swatters from spiritual energy to creating a shishkabob of Byakko's beasts. And if it's any more proof that the haters have their heads up their collective hineys, Yusuke, Kurama, AND Hiei, throughout the series, have been shown to be very impressed by Kuwabara's abilities and his resourcefulness.

Anyways, you wrote a great essay that was very thought-provoking.
teh wheelbarrow 12/16/05 . chapter 1
Yeah! Kuwabara rocks my socks; he may not be my favorite character but he's still so wonderful and I just can't STAND Kuwa bashers. Your essay had very good points, I hope some Kuwa haters read it and you shone new light on them. :D Ooh, and I like your points in the "Kuwabara is weak" section! Very persuading. Anyways, my favorite part about Kuwabara is how strong his honor is and how strong his will is. I mean, how could anyone hate him!
Spiraling Vortex 12/5/05 . chapter 1
Your essay is great.

#1(under the ignorant reasons) The hairsytle are like that because Yu Yu Hakusho was set during the early ninties - manga: 1990-'94, and anime: around '93-'95/6 -and not many fans seem to get that! Kurama has a mullet for crying out loud, and let's not forget all those headbands and legwarmers everywhere.

And his love for Yukina is precious and down-right adorable! Everything else is basically what I thought, too.
FortySeventhLight 10/2/05 . chapter 1
Amen, brother! Amen! Kuwabara is so neglected and unloved, but never fear - a Kuwa-chan fan is near! You're so right about looks not being everything. I personally can say something that most may find odd, despite loving an anime series focused on four male characters (all four which totally rock! _), but my absolute favorite character is in fact a female; Izumi from Full Metal Alchemist. Yes, she's pretty and such, but that's not what I care about. It's her character that drew me in, and thus I like her. The same applies to Kuwabara. His character is original, goofy, and downright loveable. I don't care what anyone says - I'm a Kuwabara fangirl! Fear me, Kuwa-chan haters/HxK/KurxYuk obsessors!

*steps off soap box*
Concise Complexity 9/8/05 . chapter 1
All of that was very very true. I really enjoyed reading something from someone else who didn't hate Kuwabara. And while he isn't my favorite character in the series he's definately up there with the other three! Go Kuwabara!
