I agree with you 100% with everything you've written and am IMMENSELY THANKFUL that you pointed out the injustice's done to Ryoga, Kasumi and ESPECIALLY Akane and the AUDACITY of what's been going on with Nabiki and Ranma and *cringes* Mary Sue's.

I'd applaud you if I was able to, give yourself a reward, you damn well deserve it for being such a decent, straightforward person. Ignore any flames, if any dare, you're perfectly right to put this up.

P.S: Just wondering, have you noticed that there also seem to be quite a few Soun-hate and Genma-hate fics going around? I mean I know those two are quiet silly at times if not idiotic, but really, writing about schemes to take away rightful inheritances, letting Ryoga 'defile' Akane (even though we all know he closes his eyes) and going out to _murder_ people seems to be going a bit too far. I was really upset when I read it in a few fics by come fo my favourite authors. Just wondering that if you noticed you could post a bit in there, I really don't like people mistreating Soun so much; I know he's a cry baby but he's an innocent cry baby,
And while Genma's character is a little...well not-exactly-honourable he most certainly isn't a plotter and cold-hearted murderer!

While I've yet to read a stereotyped ranma story, I've read many others, and found this to be intensely amusing!

I thought it was very funny how Genma came off as an intellectual and how Kasumi had more of a attitude then in the series.
You show very nicely how a character can get labeled as something and the label sticks with them whether its true or not.
The best way to use a character is to show how they develop and change while trying to keep the original concept of them intact.

Overall, a great piece of work. Keep up the good job! :-)

Heya, 'tis me again. I liked this, actually, quite much. brings up many points, tastefully, tactfully, and in an artistic way. And after googling Mary Sue, I'm half tempted to just right a half assed fanfic of a new senshi named Mary Sue who happens to be a white trash druggy.

Hm, yes there is certainly a lot of what you describe going on. Some aspects have forums debating what is really canon and what is not. There is also the opposite side of Akane that is missed here where she is sweet as sugar and does nothing wrong. I guess it really depends on the story and what is happening, but I'll admit that what you say is true in the negative sense far more often then it is done positively.

Oh, stop being dramatic! I thought that was a fun read! Nice and sweet... you forget about the Mary Sue... she's supposed to be floating with a pair of wings and halo, too! Ha ha. That was awesome, I'll consult you for ideas in this Ranma fic I'm working on called Ghost Fighter... actually, I'm still working on the title as well. Basically, it's a Yu Yu Hakusho crossover. (Yes, I'm one of those.) Basically, I'll be adding a couple of OC's, and hopefully they won't be Mary Sue's... (there's two guys and and three girls I'm considering; three are demons that will be kinda like Hiei, Kurama and Yukina. Two will be humans like Shizuru and Kuwabara... psychics, I mean. )

Well what am I saying? this is my fic, not yours! Hahah. I really can't complain. Like I said, it was a fun read... and it's something a person could read over and over again. I like the Ranma/Akane interaction. It was very spot on. Read MZephyr's Same Time Next Year... I think it's a fanfic everybody would want to do! Ha ha. As well as Resolution by Kalen Darkmoon. Oh, since it's the Ranma cast, what happened to the curses? Are they real in the lunchroom?! (Hahahah) Great job. I can't believe I haven't seen a fic like this in Ranma fandom till now!
