Glorious Clio 2006-10-18 . chapter 8I love it! Carter is one of my five favorite characters from the show. I'm sure you can guess the other four. Did we really need all the dirty handcuff references? (Just teasing- they were very funny!)

Cristy 2005-09-04 . chapter 8 Gosh Jeff, this was absolutely brilliant! I planned to only just read a chapter or two as I was pressed for time, but I was immediately hooked and read it all in one go! :) The interaction between Carter and Newkirk was perfect in capturing the essence of their characters and their friendship. The scene where Newkirk was teaching Carter to play gin-rummy was simply hilarious - I almost spilt my tea on my keyboard I was laughing so hard! Imagine getting a winning hand on your first go - Newkirk's reaction to that was beyond price! And I like the dodgy past you gave Newkirk and the way you contrasted it with Carter's farmboy naiveté - well done!
Thanks for this marvellous story - it's definitely a keeper! :):) |
marg 2005-08-22 . chapter 8 Just wonderful Jeff,
Great interplay between the charactors, and a really nice view of the Newkirk/Carter relationship!

Patti 2005-08-21 . chapter 8 LOL! Colonel Cassanova indeed! Loved the bunny, and I'm sure I'll not be alone in that! |
ML Miller Breedlove 2005-08-17 . chapter 8I enjoyed your story Jeff. The interplay between Carter and Newkirk was a blast. I don't know who this bunny belongs to, but I'm sure they approve. Thanks for the story! |
HoganTime 2005-08-17 . chapter 1Nice story! I liked the reversal, nice to see it´s not always Carter messing up ;-) Carter was brilliant in this story! |
JacobedRose 2005-08-15 . chapter 8This is great! The Newkirk and Carter friendship was great and very in character. Keep it up! |
MaryAnne 2005-08-15 . chapter 8"I don't care if he's sitting on the toliet with his pants around his ankles!" ROFLMAO!! I couldn't stop laughing at this line. I could just see Carter in his usual high strung appearance as a German officer saying this line. LOL
Great story, Jeff! I enjoyed your focus on the friendship and also showing Carter coming up with a great plan of his own. I've not seen "The Wicked Dreams of Paula Schultz" but what a brilliant scene showing Newkirk's "skills" =) |
L J Groundwater 2005-08-15 . chapter 8Got sent this at work to read... so glad the boys made it up. Carter can't stay mad for long, and Newkirk is always surprised when someone does something nice for him. But they are good friends down deep, and that will always come out. Nice work! Hippety hop! |
Nitestalker 2005-08-15 . chapter 8I LOVE IT! Way to go carter! I knew you could do it. And the part about the handcuffs almost had me rolling. If I wasnt at work, I would have been. Thanks so much for writing. |
 Anonymous 2005-08-14 . chapter 8 ~~
Wow! Thanks for posting this story so quickly! Great characterizations. I like the way you write. Sometimes it's better to leave certain parts out and let the imagination of the reader take over...and I really liked the way you used that tactic in this story.
Very funny, yet you touched on their friendship nicely.
Heck, I liked the whole thing! Great job!

Becky 2005-08-14 . chapter 8 I'm so glad you didn't tease and drag this story out! I really enjoyed reading it all at once. I want to see that next mission...SOON. :) |
Becky 2005-08-14 . chapter 5 “And don’t forget your handcuffs!” She gave his knee a squeeze, causing him to jump and hit his head on the car roof.
“First your sergeant and now you. Do you all have a stuttering problem? I said bring her here at ONCE!”
You do such a good job of writing Carter, whether he's being himself, or doing a brilliant German impersonation! (Nice job with Newirk, too) |
Becky 2005-08-14 . chapter 4 Nice explanation of why Carter wore his gloves, and sometimes had a ring. I like this better than "oops! someone goofed!" Love the flashbacks, too. |
MaryAnne 2005-08-14 . chapter 4I'm enjoying this story Jeff! I like the flash back bits in between the action of the current story, especially the part of Carter and his ring and Newkirk getting it back. =) Nice touch with offering an explanation of why he wears the gloves. LOL.
Can't wait to see how Carter's plan works out! |
