| Elsa J 2008-04-13 ch 26, | abuseThis is very good writing and nice to see the whole family involved on some level. Alan and Tin Tin are sweet and I like Lou. I dont think the last few chapters have been in character for Penny, using words like 'fag' and 'the old dear' (even if grandma was being sly) does not sit right. I also dont think she would be demanding to know why Jeff cant love her, or what's Lou got the she hasn't and leaving herself open to the hurtful replies. More likely she would adopt the stiff British upper lip and pretend it did not matter. What's Virgil up to on his laptop |
| Math Girl 2007-11-04 ch 26, | abuseLooks like life just keeps right on getting more complicated for Jeff. One son getting married, another (and possibly John, as well) with serious second thoughts about staying with the family business, Penny taking a sabatical and the Hood up to wickedness in Unity City. On the bright side, at least Virgil and Parker appear to have patched things up... Good work, Tikatu, and wonderful to see another update. :) C. |
| susanmartha 2007-11-01 ch 26, anon. | abuseAtlanta and Lee. Friends from Wasp, I assume? |
| Math Girl 2007-07-22 ch 25, | abuseIs Lou having second thoughts about staying on the island? Nice to see a bit more of Alan and TinTin, although things look like they may be heating up for poor Gordon, and I still feel bad for Penny. Maybe she'll come around to Virgil, huh? C. |
| Ship's Cat 2007-07-15 ch 24, | abuseOkay, I'm all caught up with reading Serendipity, Masquerade, and now up to the latest chapter of Overtures. In order to tie up all your plot lines you are going to need at least 30 more chapters. Goody! I'm looking forwards to reading everyone of them. My cat, CD, also sends greetings and a dead water rat as greetings to your cats. |
| Math Girl 2007-07-14 ch 24, | abuseA wonderful update, Tikatu. It was nice to learn a little more of Gordon's past, and his feelings about possibly stepping down for awhile to get a degree. The cats are always a lot of fun, too. I take it Gordon's never changed a pan? :) C. |
| Math Girl 2007-02-24 ch 23, | abuseHi, Tikatu :) Wonderful to read another update and to hear (even posthumously) from Lucy. That is a terribly underused character, and you write the daily ins and outs of marriage and motherhood beautifully. Good job! C. |
| Eternal Density 2007-02-13 ch 23, | abusehooray, an update! (i have been enjoying the white winds but I like this series better) quite an enjoyable chapter, though worrying in places :D |
| Math Girl 2006-07-06 ch 22, | abuseYeah, Virge... you got fans. =) That was cute, about not reading the disreputable site's 'fan fiction'. Looks like the Hood is back to his old habits, intent on stirring up mischief. Hopefully the boys will be able to shut him down. Well written and revealing conversations, thickening plot... Nicely done, Tikatu, as ever. C. |
| Math Girl 2006-06-07 ch 21, | abuseWell, Penny asked for reasons, and she certainly got them. Guess she'll be seeking elsewhere now, huh? And I'm glad to see that Melissa had the intestinal fortitude to walk out of a bad situation when she had to. Perhaps Scott can provide a much-needed bright spot in all this. Looking forward to the next update! =) C. |
| Bluegrass 2006-06-05 ch 21, | abuseOh, poor Melissa. I really felt for her, so I did! That must have been heartbreaking for her to have to leave her parents home like that, without their blessing and having to struggle with Quinn. It was very realistically portrayed, for there would be a very deeply ingrained sense of family in the Irish, especially grandparents with their grandchildren. And the scene at the airport! I could well imagine Aidan threatening to disown his own daughter. Like I said, my heart goes out to Melissa. What she needs now is the comforting arms of a certain Mr Tracy!! And, speaking of Mr Tracy...Mr Jeff Tracy that is! That was an uncomfortable conversation he was forced to have with Penny. Well, at least now she knows. And Scott! Actually thinking of leaving! But come on, who are you...and he...trying to kid! It's not just about taking on guardianship of Pete's kids. More like, taking on Pete's young and lonely widow! International Rescue, though, just wouldn't be the same without him. So, why can't he have both!! After all, Daddy seems to be contemplating a cosy relationship with Mrs Myles!! So, if he can have his cake...and eat it!! Overall, you had some wonderfully in-depth conversations. Look forward to seeing how it all pans out! |
| FrankieC 2006-05-22 ch 20, | abuseWell!! Scott's thinking of quitting hm? I've been silent for many chapters due to life etc etc... But I HAVE been reading! You definitely have thrown a spanner in the works haven't you? I'm sure most of the readers especially the Scott fans, are still in TOTAL SHOCK! As I've said before, you sure know how to write a cliff hanger! On the serious side, I can see why some of the boys would consider a 'what if' concerning leaving. I wouldn't have bet on Scott being one of them though! I eagerly await the next chapter. As for Penny in this chapter...all I can say is that she's got a bloody nerve! |
| Math Girl 2006-05-21 ch 20, | abuseHey, Tikatu! =) Sorry to be so slow about reviewing. Still, y' know, a little under the weather, but keeping up with (and loving) both stories. Interesting, how in this universe, the boys are seriously considering Jeff's offer. I can see how they would, of course, especially Scott. And Gordon's concerns about the loss of life (even though he was perfectly justified, each time) certainly ring true. Ol' Addy seems not to be quite the sweet and gentle friend I'd thought her... between her and the Hood, trouble definitely seems to be brewing for Penny and IR in the near future. I await further developments with interest and apprehension! |
| Math Girl 2006-05-07 ch 19, | abuseYay! Scott and Melissa draw closer! Jeff makes his pitch and declaration, asking the boys, etc. to sign on! A nice set of scenes, emotionally packed and well-written. C. |
| Claudette 2006-05-03 ch 19, | abuseSet in concrete is no guarantee of anything when IR's around - what with the nose of The Mole being able to chew its way through almost anything. I'm sure Jeff could find his way around a few barriers. So, what's Scott up to? Is he about to tick off 'The Pink Lady'? Give a pep talk to 'The Commander' or maybe offer his father and 'Aunt Lou' some friendly advice? I guess I'll just have to wait & see. |
