I have to confess that I am confused. Did it all happen, or was it merely a dream? The latter is far crueler than the former, to be sure. All in all, you did a good job with this unusual twist on the POTO storyline.

I'd like you to know that this is one of the best PoTO phanfictions I have ever read. It kept me on the edge of my seat at all times, dying to know what would happen next. Extremely well-written, full of description, and they are all in-character. A great take on Leroux's story (Might there be some Kay influences here as well?); I love the Leroux-based phictions the best, for they are less common and are much more special and endearing to me. The only thing I did not like about this story was the ending. It was disappointing to me, shocking, and very heartbreaking, and it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, but of course, that is a matter of opinion. Your story is beautiful, rare, and a masterpiece even with the heart-wrenching ending. Congratulations on this spellbinding work.

Buh...I...huh?

And I'm speechless, good job!

Seriously though, that ending took me completely by surprise, but there was no way this story could have ended happily and kept its integrity. In a way, though, it probably all worked out for the best. Erik had his fantasy and Christine probably had a sucessful career before marriage to the Vicompte. Everyone wins. Except not at all. If that makes any sense.

N o o o o o o o ! No, no, no! I want my fluffy E/C ending. :D

Actually, with the A/N apology at the beginning, I figured it was going to be something we wouldn't like. And even though it's not the ending so many of us wanted, it was GOOD. What a shock! (Anybody remember Bobby Ewing? LOL!) And how sad. Really a wringer there at the end.

What a great story. Well worth reading, and well done, too. Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope we'll hear more from you in the future.

Wow.

That's about all I can think of saying. Wow. (It being one in the morning probably isn't helping my vocabulary, either...)

Wow.

Man the ending was confusing, but still a beautiful story, was the whole thing just an illusion, by some autistic kid with a snowglobe. Five stars in my book, the feutillity("is that spelled right?") of their relationship is heartbreaking.

As a good reviwer should, I recommend to you "The Mask's Lament by Kittie Darkhart" Damn good, much like yours.

Oh no! So it was all a dream? None of it happened?! Wow...that was amazing.I was so certain that Christine was going to go with them...and they were going to have a slightly happy ending..and then this happens.I love your writing style though,it really pulls you in. Saddest ending I've ever read in my life, beautifully written, lots of descriptions.*sniff* But hopefully it isn't the end? Update soon, please!

Eh ! What is this ?
You write a wonderful storie but now I can't understand any more what happens, where the dream beggin...
It is as if you have written a storie and when it seems it's the end you decide to rewrite all the storie...
Poor Erik, I hope the end of his dream will become reality...
(sorry for my bad English)

That was probably the very saddest ending that I have ever read in fanfiction! This story is heartbreakingly detailed and well written- every emotion and feeling seems so real. You are, without a doubt, one of the most talented writers whose work I have had the pleasure of reading. Thank you so much for the wonderful story... and for reminding me that it is sometimes the most tragic tales that we love the most.

Wow, wow, wow, the last thing I expected was for the whole thing to have been a dream that Erik had had. Oh how so very sad, in a beautifully, tragically haunting way. My God, this chapter took me by complete surprise!

So I am assuming now, that the substance that the gypsy gave Erik was not a magical potion but poison. Oh my God! Erik never had perfect face, he never showed himself to Christine, and now he will die, with Christine stil thinking him a solely spiritual being, the Angel of Music! And even though she doesn't know why, she can feel his pain, such a magnificant job at showing that somehow Erik and Christine are soulbound together!

Wow again, I can't believe just how good and wonderful, and heartbreaking this story is turning out to be. Okay I will stop rambling now. So is this the end?

Wonderful, wonderful work. Amazing, I don't know what more to say, this is one of the best phics that I have had the pleasure to read on this entire site. Keep up the fantastic work! I can't wait for the next chapter!

Long Live Phantom!

Brilliant. Very brilliant. You really had me going there, for a while. Maybe there's hope for Erik, yet. Because we've now come to the end of the novel, or almost, and he still has his Christine.
Mominator 2006-07-02 . chapter 19
Tricky, tricky! I kept expecting something horrible to happen - got my kleenex out and everything. ;D

Well, I must admit I'm quite surprised by the ending of this chapter. Christine seems to have done a 180, and I can't figure out why. I had fully expected you to follow the Leroux storyline, as that's the way things seemed to be headed these last few chapters. Really, Erik has done *nothing* (recently) to earn the regard she now seems to be favoring him with. Nothing to change her mind, and she seemed SO afraid and horrified by him - his actions, his mental health, his face - so why the change of heart? Like I said, I can't figure it out.

A couple of fabulous chapters. Well written, suspenseful ... all in all, a great read. Your chapters are always well worth the wait. :D
