Ok, first, I am enjoying this story, and I appreciate the effort it took to write it. Please continue. But I think Kirk and company are capable of figuring out 'when' they are! And everybody is a bit too 'by the book' to be accurate.

Characterizations are pretty good, but I think you have everyone giving up a bit too soon. Janeway isn't so quick to admit defeat, nor are Sisko and Kirk. Sisko wouldn't have called for command that soon. Otherwise, good story. Picard will appear soon, I trust.

Good so far. Interesting plot.
