2008-03-24 . chapter 9WOW! What a great chapter! I was so excited to learn of this update, I literally squealed. LOL And OMG this was NOT a disappointment, you guys always manage to deliver the goods. Well worth the wait, IMO.
First off, loved when Jack asks Sky for the favor of trading him a couple of night shifts so he can ask Syd on a date. LOL Sky’s reaction is great! I felt bad for Jack there for a minute, thinking that Sky was going to throttle him or something. And the “serious chemistry” and “hurricane Sky” lines (along with the rest of the scene with Z and Bridge in it) killed! LOL God Bless you Jack Landors! All I can say. lmao
*smacks Sky upside the head* Bout time you realized you wanted her you fool! *rolls eyes* (if you couldn’t tell, I love the fact that Sky finally ‘woke up’ and realizes that he wants Syd lol)
Sky’s heartfelt apology was great. Made me go “aw….” (I love him. *sigh*) And poor Syd! You can actually feel her pain when she told him that she’d looked up to him, and her thoughts of how he’d been her only friend as a child. This whole exchange was great, and I was thrilled to see them finally work it out. Sky’s little impish grin and pulling Syd into a hug made me grin like the fool I am. LOL
Loved the rumors flying, those were funny. And OMG Bridge’s ramble about the miracle was dead on Bridge. I laughed at that, especially when he pointed his finger and said “Exactly” to Jack. I don’t know why but it was really funny to me. Great job with Bridge! Oh, and let’s not forget Jack’s “I think hell just froze over.” I about died laughing when I read it.
I’m SO glad that they’re going to try being friends now. I (obviously) hate to see them hating each other. lol Can’t wait to see what comes next, will the truce be able to last for much longer before they have another big fight, or is this finally the beginning to something more for their relationship? It’s so exciting! LOL Anyway, FABULOUS job you guys! Thank you for the amazing update!
Now that I’ve finished my “official review” of the fic, I just wanted to offer my services to you two, as the official ** Slapper of those people who are hassling you about the updates. *glares at those people* I’m appalled to read the reviews where people made “about time” comments (and I know that you guys get several more emails and such saying the same crap), and they should be deeply ashamed to have written them. How DARE they?! Even after you guys have asked for patience, and been so nice about it, it’s ridiculous that they still don’t get it. You guys are doing the best you can with your work and school schedules and I think are to be commended for your efforts and not made to feel about this big *holds thumb and forefinger an inch apart* about it. They seem to think you could just sit at the computer and do nothing but write on this fic all day. They wish you'd update more often, well, I wish I had a million dollars too, but it just ain't gonna happen.
To those readers that may read this, come on, cut them some slack! Most of you have NO idea just what it takes to even be able to write a fic, let alone then have people be so ungrateful for what you HAVE given them that they demand updates. I know several authors who actually QUIT WRITING due to the comments they would get when some idiot out there didn’t think they updated soon enough. Amazing, the audacity some people have. Boggles the mind, really. People need to think before they post, and consider the feelings of the author before posting their "update soon", "when will you update again", "about time" comments. How would YOU feel if you were the author and had people sending you messages like that?
Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox now, or I’ll just keep going. Sorry girls for the ‘book’ I wrote, but I just HAD to tell you how much I loved this update, and then had to vent. Sorry for doing it in your fic review. Feel free to delete it if you feel it’s not okay to have it there. I love you guys, you Rock! Keep up the good work! *HUGS*
