I think this is great! That fishing trip must have been a good expereince for them and certainly one they both needed.

I'm going to make a suggestion, because this is a very good idea and setting: do some online research into fishing spots near Miami (Biscayne National Park is a natural chocie) and add some more scene description and elborate a bit more on their conversasion. Show us some more of what was happening. Also, your last paragraph is a nice summary. Open it up and continue that line of thought.
