Seeing all those characters crammed together for a ceremony was amusing to the extreme.

For those who asked, I made Rincewind luck's son because the story is that his mother ran away BEFORE he was born. Who else in his life could do thaT?

Oh, man, this is great!

I finally read Interesting Times not too long ago (cursed am I, broke and having to constantly wait fo interlibrary loans...) and the germ of the idea of Rincewind and Butterfly wormed its way into my head at about the part where she runs with him and keeps up (if ever there was a woman for Rincewind, she would have to be able to keep up...) but I was too lazy and busy to give it much thought.

I must say... Excellent setup. I wondered myself who'd run the Agatean Empire after TLH, and Twoflower... Perfect. He's so unqualified, he's good at it. Planning a marriage without consulting all parties involved... Y'know, it smacks of more than a few manga plots I've read, too. (Also, nice manga parody, and you got the history right! Kudos!)

Ooh, and there's so many fun Pratchett-esque moments... I especially liked the matress bit... "I'd just got it to stop cheating at cards..." Genius!

A nod to morphic resonance; nice to see the proper traditions being held up...

Some other reviewer said you had Rincewind a bit too laid-back about Death and the life-treating situation and all, but I think that by TLH, a sort of self-parody creeps into Rincewind's reactions, and I kind of felt that here.

Oh, I really liked the bit about Rincewind being the Lady's son, though one wonders how exactly he finds this out. I mean, it makes sense in a way... It explains why he's her favorite chess-piece, but it came out of nowhere.

And I thought you really got the UU staff spot-on. I love those guys...

Um, let's see... The wedding ceremony was great, nice to see all the cameos... Death as the best man... LOVE IT!

And how it ended up as a melee... Could one expect any less for our hapless wizzard?

But really, the best part was the end... He got the therepy after all... And... Well... wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more... Absolutely brilliant.

I liked it; it wasn't the best fic I've ever read, but it was good.

The pairing was an interesting and fitting choice. However, in the characterization of the pairing was also the biggest flaw of your story. Somehow, Rincewind seemed far too relaxed; Joking about death while he still could run away? He would already be speeding away.

Also, I cannot see Pretty Butterfly being so.. I don't know. I guess she seems to be too subdued, or so. Too passive. When she says "It is my father's wish", she comes over as dependent.

More interestingly, your other characters were almost spot-on; Vimes, for example.

You do get massive points for Death being the best man. You get even more points for remembering such a great number of beloved characters, such as Conina and Nigel.

One thing stumped me, however: Rincewind being Luck's son?

Anyway, while this story wasn't perfect, it was enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to reading some other of your stories.

Iliked it. I liked it a lot. Rincewind getting a little bit of good luck instead of just nasty is a nice change.

this is genuinely amusing. It has quite pratchettesque humour, and great parody of the more cheese-ridden aspects of Japanese culture. sometimes your descriptions were a little too leading, but actually the whole thing was nicely paced and in character. nice subtle ending... open to interpretation ;-)
