Yay, I liked this chapter. =] Actually, my favorite part was very small--it was just when you wrote about what happened to Misao and Soujiro. Just traveling together... I think that's really sweet, and romantic, and just plain Misao-esque. I can't wait for part two. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. Gah. And I'm really interested in Naruku's idea about what to do with her reward money. It's original. Which, of course, is always cool.

Just kidding. I'm really "oh-my-goshing" at this chapter! Wow! It was long, but full and rich with emotion.
The wedding scene was well done, I liked the writing there especially. I also love the idea of the two of them traveling off into the world (isn't this mentioned in Rainbows?) before packing up and moving to Aizu.
Aoshi and Kaoru's argument was truely heartwrenching. It seemed a little out of the blue, since they've been happy in love for a while, but I'm glad that they got to face this trial and overcome it together. Really, they're much stronger because of it, and I love the fact that their marraige is one of compromise. This sentence, "The time they were apart, Kaoru sulked as little as possible, but their reunions were mighty and made up for the separation." really made me feel the enormous force of love between them. The two have passion, care, respect and compromise--truely everything a relationship needs!
You had some beautiful imagery in this chapter. I especially liked the constant allusion to "winds" and then the winds that were blowing so hard during the last scene. Very neatly tied together! I guess it really was time for Kenshin and Naruku to get together!
And I loved the picture of them just sitting quietly together in the kitchen, very nonchalant and very naturally. Their relationship has pretty much always been that, and I feel more than ever that Naruku is really the perfect girl for Kenshin. I love their interaction and I can't wait to see more!
Their engagement was really sweet to read about. I loved it. And her answer "Yes, forever" told so many things about their relationship and whats to come. Truely beautiful, Usashi and a job well-done. And no, I'm not crying...really, I'm not...

Oh? There's a part two? Wow...I honestly thought that this was some sort of happy epilogue, giving that it seemed as though everyone's lives were wrapped in that manner. But there are probably some unresolved issues as well, huh? ^^, so no ranting from me this time, lol. I'll wait until the next chapter, which I will be waiting for impatiently.

By the way, Aoshi/Kaoru and Kenshin/Naruku is the ish! lol

That's ok, though, because it was such a happy and warm and loving chapter that I could've kept reading it if it was ten pages longer! Everyone seems so happy, and rightfully so, I think, so it makes their happiness even brighter and tastier to the reader. After so much...Gah! *SO* much better than Reflections! Thank you for this excellent chapter and the beautiful beginning to all of my favorite characters' lives. They deserve what you gave them.

Enishi's going to go hang out with Mei-mei, didn't ya know? (j/k) Sorry it took me so long to read this chapter, I have been SO FREAKIN' BUSY!! Argh...

ANYways, I did like it very much, although I thought it was a bit anti-climactic. But that may have been partly my fault; I'm such an Enishi freak... It feel weird to leave the entire Jinchuu arc out like that, but it is rather unnecessary after the whole thing with Naruku, isn't it? The only thing I object to is Enishi having "comrades." He never really had comrades, only tools, and the only reason he would've cared for their deaths was if it interefered with his jinchuu. Thank god that didn't need to happen...*sigh* I loved the ending to this chapter, so sweet. Imagining them walkign down the road like that (aw) fills me with fuzzies. All in all, I did like the chapter and the dialogue, but it isn't my favorite just because it seems so vague. It'd be kinda cool to write a fic about this version of Enishi's life...hm... Well, I'm looking forward to the next chapter and the next part. I wanna see some little Kennies and Naruku's running around, wouldn't that be cute? :D

The chapter's short, but the writing is excellent. I think you did a great job playing out the scene between Enishi and Kenshin. It's seems so strange when you're reading a story, and all the pieces fall into place--when you see how things are connected. It's like a light going off in your head: Oh! That's the reaction I got when I found out what Enizu had to do with Enishi.

I just finished reading The Count of Monte Cristo (unfortunately, it was an abridged version. -_- I didn't see that little note when I grabbed it off the library shelf), and now I'm drawing this weird comparison between Edmond Dantes and Enishi. If you've read the story, I think you'd know what I was talking about. It'd be really cool if you did. I hope to see a longer chapter next time (and more of Enishi...), so until then,

You kept us waiting again, Usashi! But I must say, it was well worth it. The interaction with Enishi and Kenshin was a really wonderful read. I for one loved hearing about Enishi's involvement with Enizu and why Jinchuu never happened. I didn't see that coming at all! Pretty cool. I have a feeling that in some ways, Naruku understands Enishi, and in others she has no idea where he's coming from. Whereas Kenshin, I felt was able to predict his actions impeccably.
The dialogue and the pauses made the pace of this chapter almost...synchopated. Kind of a weird thing to say, but that's how I felt when I was reading it.
But I think the very last scene was my favorite. It fit with everything so well, and it really made me smile to think that Kenshin and Naruku are so close to each other now.
One thing I am confused about, though, is whether Naruku knows the story about Kenshin and Tomoe? I think somewhere is said she does, but I don't remember him telling her...oh well.
Oh, I also loved the quote at the beginning of the chapter. Nice.
