Another new chapter! I'm thrilled!

Even more so at the prospect of Sano's new look. Navy blue and red are such a dramatic combination. It suits him.

Loved the horse. It's a surprising addition but not at all unwelcome. I never thought of Sano owning an animal since he didn't get along well with the dog in that filler episode the last season of RK, but by making it clear that the horse presented a challenge, it made sense. Sano is never one to back away from a challenge, and I can definitely see him throwing himself as whole heartedly into taming the beast as he did learning his fist technique back in the Shishio arc.

The other charcters' reactions to Dangan were interestingly diverse. Kaoru's threats made me simle. She so possessive of her dojo! Misao was hilarious, poking into things she shouldn't and getting nipped for her pains. That's her all over, quite in character.

It was Megumi's acidic comments that I enjoyed most of all. It was very much in keeping with her bantering relationship with Sano. She's the queen of the zingers, especially that comment about women needing to get their head examined. Fascinating that she puts him down yet insists on traveling with him to keep him out of trouble. It's clear she's trying to hide her affection for him.

The innkeeper's mistaken assumption about Sano and Megumi goes right along with their developing relationship in your story. They already do bicker like a married couple. One wonders when they'll get the clue and just admit their feelings and actually become one. Not that I want them to do so quite so soon, because that would probably mean the story was over!

I'm happy you avoided the typical romantic couples-traveling-together cliches of making her hug him in order to stay on the horse, or having him walk in on her in the bath or while dressing. It's refreshing to see a story that sticks to the realism of developing relationships. Sano has, after all, been away for a very long time.

Loved the way you ended the chapter. Nice job of bringing Lei Shen back into it in a believable way through the letter. It draws the readers' attention back to a central conflict of the story while giving us some welcome time of Sano/Megumi feeling their prickly way around each other.

Can't wait for the next chapter. I'd love to know what Sano's family makes of Megumi.

I read the entirety of this story over the last couple of days, and I must say that I am quite impressed. I look forward to the next chapter, and wonder if Sano's and Megumi's relationship will go any further forward.

Thanks for the update! I'm sure I have no need to express how I've anticipated this (lol).

First, let me begin by saying that your writing prowess has progressed. From your format to punctuation, everything seems much improved. A few errors here and there, but none that were too obvious.

I have always admired and been somewhat envious of your eye for detail. You simply have a knack and take such efforts to describe things such as the thread in Sango's gi to the hair on Dangan's mane.

You were right... I did enjoy Sano and Dangan's reuniting. Through your writings I could depict that scene cleary in my mind; the frisky stallion expressing his displeasure at being left alone, but at the same time, welcoming the sight of his master. Beautifully done.

I grew excited on learning that Megumi would be accompanying Sano on his journey. I wasn't expecting that you would do that, but I was secretly hoping. Isn't that just like a woman, thinking one step ahead of a man, albeit not thouroughly enough (lol). I wanted much more to happen between, maybe some conversation, but (sighs) you're holding out on us... again.

I have a few concerns, but overall this was a witty read and well worth the wait. So... I guess I can put the bokken away (until the next time).
