No critique on qpelling or grammer, your structure is very well done.

Kaylle 2007-12-12 . chapter 1Wow, this is *beautiful*. Just amazing. Well done. |
angellwings 2006-07-18 . chapter 1whoa, I wish you would write more of these. They are amazing. The Little Mermaid has always been one of my favorites, and you have sort of made her sound like Elphaba from Wicked. I love it. |
silvermedal 2006-05-11 . chapter 1Awesome write! I love it, and your Versions of Darkness series. I would love to see more of this. Villains have always been interesting to me. |

Maleficent Angel 2005-10-25 . chapter 1Excellent - you've certainly added depth to an otherwise stereotypical bad gal.
*Wow*

SunRise19 2005-09-26 . chapter 1Oh wow, the way you word things is brilliant!! I loved this first chapter, I wonder who else you'll do next? Is virsions of Darkness finished or not? I really like this, you're a wonderful writer!! |
Gareth Paul Barsby 2005-09-26 . chapter 1Woah. That was pretty deep. I wish you'd continue this. I'd like to see what makes the other baddies tick. |
 AlexTheHurricane 2005-09-26 . chapter 1Beautiful story...it's so sad!I hope you'll continue this,I just love your style. |
Foalshan 2005-09-26 . chapter 1No, Shego, just another take on Disney. Some may even feature the same characters in a different light.
And the OOC-ness of the characters...yeah, I see what you mean...but if I'm forced to categorize the stories here and the only category they all fit under is 'Disney'. There's no, like, 'folklore about the Little Mermaid' category. Even if I've taken wild artistic liberties, the only place they can go is under 'Disney'. ;_; I can't post them to fictionpress, either, because they aren't original. They're fanfiction.
Thank you so much for your reviews, by the way! =D =D =D |
Karalora 2005-09-25 . chapter 1 Well done. Keep at it and you could give Gregory Maguire a run for his money. |
Shego2Drakken 2005-09-25 . chapter 1Are these stories going to be opposites of the stories in "Versions of Darkness"? (I.E. Ariel - Ursula, Mowgli - Shere Kahn, Basil - Ratigan, etc.) |
TrudiRose 2005-09-25 . chapter 1VERY well-written! I love your descriptions. I agree with the person who said it doesn't quite fit Disney's Ursula (who "used to live in the palace" and seemed to be more ambitious, wanting power and enjoying tricking people rather than full of hatred for all things). But it's a great psychological portrait of a villain, a very real and believable story. Well done! I'm always interested in "graying up" the villains and seeing what made them tick (I wrote a whole story about Gaston's childhood in the "Beauty and the Beast" section to explain psychologically why he is the way he is), so I'm very interested in seeing more of this story! |
Ravenbell 2005-09-24 . chapter 1Ooh, this is good, and *entirely* plausible. I like how you charted out the process that made her into a witch, especially the writing on the walls as the source of her spells.
My only quibble is that this character bears little resemblence to Ursula of the Disney film, who is very personable, worldly, and lacks this version's self-loathing.
However, it works perfectly as an origin for the original Hans Christian Anderson version of the fairy tale.
I'm off to read "Versions of Dark" now.
Keep up the good work! |
