While I still can't see either Max or Logan singing any song let alone that particular one, this is a very enjoyable piece of shippery and a cute use of the elements from the challenge.

You have the tentativeness of their relationhip at this point set out just as we all imagined it: lots and lots of "what ifs" and speculation in the thoughts of each, and only platonic discussion between them--with those occasional, sweet comments peeking through. That they would both be interested in a meteor shower makes sense; that they only get this far, at this point in their relationship, does too!

_Max_ singing? And well? Is that a first? :) We've seen Logan sing in a few fic (probably because what we've read of MW) but...Max? Hee... why do I suspect that more writers would make her bad at it than good? (makes no sense, does it?)

Another matter you pointed out, subtly, but throughout the story, that's often overlooked in fic: how they, as a "couple," have to tough out one barrier after another to their having a "normal" relationship or even mormal lives: the reference to Bronk and therefore EO villians; the fact that Manticore's early training still colors Max's view of things, even shortchanging her from the simple things; the daily, oppressive government intrusion; the elements (wet field) and Logan's physical challenges making all the foregoing a bit harder for him and therefore, for Max too("hopping" up on the Aztek.) Just one thing after another, but they doggedly tackle each step. Overall, these elements llustrate _their_ relationship, as compared to any other couple in any other time, how much harder it actually must be for them, but how they manage to get past it all to connect. Love will prevail! (now all they have to do is figure out that Love is what it is! ;})

You know, this almost sounds like the opening chapter to a longer story. Don't suppose you have any ideas...?

Aww damn this was totally one of those stories that I had little smile on my face all throughout (with a few larger grins of course). It just made me totally happy. All of it was just perfect. Now I have to go look up this song however so I can imagine Logan singing it.

Amazing writing, Kyre. I enjoyed it when it was read at the gathering in July and I have been looking forward to reading it again. Just as sweet and pure and romantic as I remembered, while still being in character and not getting sappy.

Their conversation is natural and endearing and I can see them now, hear them shifting on the hood, sharing the companionable silence and growing together as friends through watching the random cosmic display.

Natural. Comfortable. The simple things can make the biggest statements, the gestures of belonging more meaningful than words.

This is just the balm I needed after a hectic week at work, and with another hectic week ahead. You really must write more frequently.

I should add at this point that I hate the song 'Me and Bobby McGee.' M, could it have anything to do with the name - nah, I disliked it long before NCIS, lol!

A nice pick up from 'Out' - another of my fave eps. It makes sense to set this story at that point because it's one of the few times Logan is determined to spend some time with her.

I like the long wait at the checkpoint due to riots - a good reminder of PP conditions.

Logan being mysterious as to where they were going - Max enjoying the game. Hee - Logan's reluctance to go on the rooftop and Max teasing him about the Space Needle.

M, seems like everyone's writing fics about Logan singing lately, lol!

You paint a nice picture of them both watching the meteor shower and I like Logan's thoughts on Max's comments about Manticore.
