A great story. Very good.

This was a good story, but like so much of Peanuts, so oppressively sad! That's the style, though. I liked what you did with the characters, although I wouldn't think Linus would smoke; come to think of it, I can't see any one of them smoking. But, hey, that's me. I like that you linked Linus and Violet together; did you see in the strip that he had a crush on her, off and on? I always thought Linus should end up, if possible, with Frieda. He introduced her to the group, remember?

As a personal aside, from the first ten years of the strip, Violet is plainly on Charlie's mind. I have a story, 350 pages, where this is developed. Your story is good, and you don't over-write, which is a temptation. Good work!

Wow...that was really good. They were actually in-character, and I really liked the subtle little character detail you put in (Linus turning his blanket dependency into cigarette smoking, that old yellow "favorite" sweater, Charlie Brown managing a Little League team, etc). It was also very believable, I heard somewhere that Schulz based Lucy partially on his first wife, and CB IS Charles Schults, CB isn't just based on himself, he IS (or rather WAS) him.

Oh, so brilliantly bittersweet. I grew up with these characters and I still love them... and this is so sadly plausible. -hits Lucy- I think I feel most sorry for Sally's Sweet Baboo...

A perfect, perfect story. Believable, so sad, so lifelike, so... real. A shock about Sally, but thanks for keeping Snoopy alive. You've taken comic characters and turned them into real people. IN-CRED-IBLE.

Absolutely, positively brilliant. I would love to see a full-length story out of this! You've got characterization of the adult Peanuts dead on and you ended this amazingly well also - Charlie Brown finally getting to kick the football. Fantastic story! =)

Very nice. A well-crafted little tale that pretty realistically and not at all cartoonishly depicts characters we know and love. It's interesting that such characters exist, that Charlie Brown and all these guys really can be written in a completely adult way, without needing to really insert any OC-ness whatsoever. I enjoyed reading this. Well done.

I'm seriously crying a little. That was really wonderful. Very touching. Opening new ground, but still indelibly true to the spirit of the comic. I will definitely rec this to people. It's absolutely darling.
