Really liked this, well done!

abusethat was some good angst! But Cho seems kind of naive at the beginning, when she went to Pomfrey for the "hex". And Hermione and Pansy together" Who would have thought? That was a good shock...poor Cho.

abuseI'm sorry. I pushed the submit review button by accident. Anyway:
There are two things I look for above all in any story I critique: Dramatic flow and impact, and realistic characters. These two aspects were here in abundance. The words were written in a "stream-of-consciousness" manner, which gave the story a very realistic sense of teenage angst. The uncertainty and anxiousness of the sentences gave a very good impression of fear. Fear of exposure and humiliation. Everything that comes with the baggage of coming out. Homosexuality is one of the subjects of the human condition that fascinates me most, and I am always very interested in seeing how authors draw from real or imagined experiences to create an atmosphere that is compelling. Most of all, the story had push. The reader really wants to get to the end while still being interested in what he/she is reading at the moment. The most important thing about stream-of-consciousness writing is the push. Again, the words were put together brilliantly to make the reader feel what Cho is feeling at the time. The reader truley feels sorry for Cho at the end and awkward in the middle. The goal of a story without a happy ending is to have the reader constructing a happier picture of what could have been. You achieved this wonderfully.
It takes a lot of courage to write something like this, as it reveals something in yourself that is usually private. I have no idea if you had a coming out process, and whether you did or not is largely irrelevant to the point I am trying to make, which is that you have the guts to express yourself. I am very impressed. Keep writing!

abuseThat was interesting. It was very interesting to get into Cho's mind like that and I did really feel bad for her. But she'll get her chance. That makes it worth it I guess.
