I know you said -chan is added for random reasons, and so I wasn't sure whether or not you knew why it was added. I figured I'd give you a mini-tutorial on it ;) You probably already know this, but hey. Someone else reading your reviews might not.

-chan is a suffix known as a "diminuitive". It suggests that the person the suffix is attached to is small and cute. You use it with children and females you are fond of. When boys are about 13 you start using "-kun", which isn't so much a diminuitive and therefore doesn't suggest that the guy you're mates with is a small and fluffy teddy bear.
