Very sweet piece! (I was reminded ever so briefly of the first chapter of Hikaru no Go and waited for a ghost to appear!)

I love that the hidden history would be revealed to those unable to understand it. The idea of Saitou and Kaoru growing closer due to a one sided correspondence is original. I really like the idea of her going behind Kenshin's back to thank those who help keep him alive. Her snippy tone in the early letter was great!

The use of dialog as the driving force of the fic works well and you've given the characters their own voices so it's easy to follow their banter. This story stands alone well, it's a complete idea and the reader can fill in the details. Nice work.

Beautiful. It's not a style of storytelling seen everyday especially in the Saitou/Kaoru section. I hope you do a longer Saitou/Kaoru someday - yours are the absolute best!

That was simply beautiful. It only proves that this odd pairing stands as good a chance as any other. I do hope more writers find it in themselves to explore the RK world further, in terms of the romance of course. There are so many "what if's" in this world and you have distinctly displayed a very good way to approach this one. *bows* I sure hope you write more.

1 i never met a jap 9 yr old, let alone a ruroken descendant but don't u think the words chronological order wer a lil out of order.
2 this story has been written in 1 of my fav styles, all immersive i mean. But it wud hav been so much better had u added a few flashback scenes
3 i hate u, *sniff sniff* u and ur damn 1 shots and any1 else with 1 shots.

Wait um srry for that its 4 am so u really can't blame me, or i hope u don't.

Well, that was interesting, and certainly unique. I give you a thumbs up for the creativity of the fic. I can't say I've ever read anything quite like it before. The situations of "what might have happened" is subtly dropped and hinted at, and I commend you on your unique style of twisting things. Keep writing and best of luck to you with future chapters.
