I think that was really well written. For a scary moment there at the beginning I thought that Nouda had survived. Yeah, everyone kinda forgot about Jane at the end of the book because there was too much else going on. But I think this is sort of what i would have imagined would have happened if i'd thought about it. Like i said, i thinks it's incredible.

*Grins* Ah, Ms. Farrar...yes, she would be thinking along those lines, wouldn't she? Oh well. She won't be missed.

And thank you, thank you for not bringing Nathaniel back to life!

I really liked this story, because you managed to write it without bashing Jane, whom I actuaally like.

I coudn't say that for a lot of reviewers here *glare*, but it's a really good fic.

This was really good, though. I just finished Ptolemy's Gate, which my dear friend Tzaryn was so kind as to loan to me, and now I'm back to haunting the Bartimaeus fandom and wishing that my little brother would hurry up and finish it so that I can have someone to discuss it with.

Darn! I've been trying to stop reviewing with long ramblings about my life. Sorry.

Before reading, I guess it's Jane Farrar. I actually discovered the Bartimaeus section of when I was a few chapters off the end of Ptolemy's Gate, and having read the summary of this fic, Farrar's disappearance stood out to me. :)

This is a very good fic, interesting because of being fomr the PoV of a minor character. I think you got her characterization realy well, especially the part about the government and being ruled by 'people lower than dirt'. [I like that bit =) ] Her views against the commoners reminds me of the Death Eater's in Harry Potter view of Muggles.
The bit about Mandrake was sad. Imagine her when she found out he was dead. hmm.
Good fic.

Why does everyone hate her so much? She's just a person who happens to oppose the protagonist. She's not evil, or anything.

Ugh, I'm bad about reviewing. Well, anyway, nice piece on Farrar, and what could've happened to her after Book 3. It seems realistic for her character especially, and I like how it's somewhat ironic: many of her presumptions are based on her misassumption that Nat is alive. And of course, the end is perfect for a fic like this.

I like this one. It's a good take on Farrar, as it sort of gives her an identity besides The Other Woman that often appears in Kitty/Nathaniel stories. I also like how it ended with, for lack of a more intelligent way of putting it, a "dun dun DUN" feeling - like you could continue if you wanted to. (But I'm assumiing you don't want to, since this is a one-shot.)

Anyway, your descriptions were good, very vivid, and it was an interesting look into Farrar's head. I'm glad Ptolemy's Gate left room for fanfiction - it would have been very disappointing if Stroud had completely tied off every loose end. Good work.

Fic was good, I just expect one shots to be more introspection. I mean, the ending kinda makes the reader think that you're going to go on and write a chapter fic about Jane's life after...
