Umm, the Herc can carry weapons But then it switches from being a C-130 Hercules to an AC-130 Spectre. You also have the the KC-130 prop driven flying gas station.

One more thing, the Herc is the only aircraft which carries the 24,0 lb. M.O.A.B. (Mother Of All Bombs), bunker busting, Fuel-Air Explosive bomb.

Why do you refer to the engines and afterburners of teh aircraft as boosters? I'm just curious. It does get kind of annoyign after awhile to read 'boosters' then have to translitereate that to eiterh 'engines' or 'burners'.

Umm, quick point. The US Navy retired the F-8E Crusader (also known as the MiG Master and 'THe Last of The Gunfighters) in the early to mid sixties. It was replaced by the F-4B Phantom II.

Alos, if you load a Tomcat with 6 Phoenix missiles, it can't carry any other missiles. One of the basic loads for the Tomcat is 2 Sidewinders, 2 Sparrows (Tomcat wasn't upgraded to handle the AiM-120 AMRAAM), and 2 Phoenix missiles.

The Super Tomcat can carry a mix of bombs upto and including a couple of 20 pounders and a JDAM.

Before the program was canceled, Northrup Grumman was about to introduce a Tomcat for the 21st Century (Tomcat 21 project). IT is beleived to have been upgraded with a glass cockpit, abilites to carry and fire AMRAAM missiles in place of SParrows, and have an uprated bomb load.

Other than those slight points, This is a good story.
