This was very, very good. I like the way you ended it similar to the "Snape's worst memory." Echoing that emphasizes again the way Snape feels about this vulnerability.

Well-planned, well-written. Snape has good reason to fear himself as he has been the author, no matter how forced, of his own greatest shames - and anyway he's more prone to blame himself than others. The closer the friend the more they can hurt you, but Snape's never had a friend and could not let anyone in that close if he wanted to.

Scary. Of course he's going to blame Potter if the boy is close around. So many things _have_ happened, especially those that Harry has lied about, why should Snape believe him? (Of course Harry never thinks about that part. If he thinks...).

So sad and scary, this boggart.

Wouldn't we love to know what Snape's Boggart really is - JKR says it would give too much away if she told us. This version seems very credible - I feel that his Boggart could easily be a form of himself, whether acting as the voice of doubt as here, or possibly himself in a position of vulnerability where his barricade of emotional defences no longer hold.
There is something disturbing about the seductiveness of this Boggart, and the way Snape is strangely drawn to it, while simultaneously repulsed. The way he leans into that caress is sad. So, not only does he fear the dark negative thoughts, but also the prospect of tenderness.
