Great story. Vin's desperation and loneliness only made his happiness all the more heartfelt. Love Chris and Mariha. And of course Little JD. I have a five year old granddaughter and I can hears her voice in his.

Well done. Now I am sure I know who the dark specter was talking about at the end. I hope to see a sequel to this story.

I really enjoyed this story! What a great idea for an AU. I know it has been several years now since you wrote this story, but I still wanted to throw my 2 cents worth in! I love your your JD. What a cutie! I am a total Vin girl.You did a fabulous job of writing him:) I would LOVE to see a sequel. That would be awesome!

Interesting and intriguing AU for a story.

An interesting idea for an AU. I liked how Vin being on the ranch made the difference, and how he made the promise in the end: "Things would be different - this time."

That was amazing. I like how undefined the story was and how well written. I'm not sure if I got the same meaning asyou meant but I loved what I got from it. I'm not quite sure why Vin was always hated, he was from the army or something, right? I would assume they aren't seen in the best of lights during this period.

Overall I love this story, a little vague in parts but that only adds to it. I also like the last line, "Things would be different - this time." As if the old west still happened and this was after, reborn and new chances. I also thought the spectre was a nice touch.

oh wow, that was really cool.. I got a very John Wyndam's Chrysalids(sp?) feeling from it. Very well written :) I can't wait to see the sequel if you ever decide to write it.

Good story. The characterisation was pretty damn slick, I have to admit. Liked it a lot. Suppose I'll have to have a look at what else you've got. :) So far, so good.

OMG Tari - amazing! I absolutely love this verse. Everyone is just so spot on, but with enough little tweaks to make it interesting. And I can't believe you left it where you did. I want to see what happens when Ella arrives! As soon as exams are over I'm going to be bugging you because you've got me hooked on too many of your fics and it's just not fair.

I really, really enjoyed this story. Great writing, wonderful characterizations. I hope you plan on doing a sequel.
