Oh, that was beautiful, Merrie. :) I love 'Out of Gas' and that was just the most perfect insert. I think someone should be looking to hire you to write the second Firefly series ;) What say you to that? I'd love to read more Firefly stuff if your other obsessions release you long enough to make it possible :).

I didn't know! I'm glad that one of my favorite PotC writers is also a fan of another fandom that I'm ever so in love with.

You really did a wonderful job at capturing every character. In the beginning with Mal.. simply fantastic. River's 'No one dies alone' mantra; SPOT ON! Simon's dedication to his job, but finding he cares as much as the rest of them: PERFECT. Alas, Inara... my heart always breaks for her and for Mal at the stubbornness those two exhibit. I just want to shake the bujeezus outta the pair for not getting together!

OH, but Out of Gas was one of my absolute favorite episodes. My husband too was amazed at the intensity of that episode. He didn't watch the series while it was on the air, but I've managed to get him to watch it in syndicaiton on SciFi and we went to the BDM when it was released. AND, ain't it great, on DVD by Christmas!

Now, we have to hope Universal will do a 2nd and 3rd... *keeps fingers crossed*

And, I have to hope you'll write more. Will you try? I hope so. I'll keep an eye out for you on LJ. There are some good Firefly communities there too and I find some good FF Fanfic, but not enough. Your work there would go very appreciated.
