Systemic Anomaly 2006-03-04 . chapter 5Again, I LOVE this story. Out of all of the things I never expected to enjoy -- or wait anxiously for the next chapter of -- this is in the top five: but as always, you handle it beautifully. And you KNOW how *I* feel about fanfiction. *smiles.*
Also, this:
Phasing her vision back to unparsed view
is EXCELLENT. It's the best turn of phrase ever to describe said phenomenon... I ought to know, eh? *grins.*
Thanks for this! And good luck with the rest! |
 Systemic Anomaly 2006-02-09 . chapter 1ROFL.
RE: My long review:
In one part, I said "You win at fanfiction dot net; hell, you win the Internet"; however, I'd forgotten that INCREDIBLY screwy habit this site has of ignoring all URLs, so it came out reading:
"You win at hell, you win the Internet."
*sporfle.*
Just wanted to clarify. ;) |
Systemic Anomaly 2006-02-09 . chapter 4My first reponse, literally, to T.:
"Wah! Where's the REST of it?"
*quietly thinking.* I hadn't read it all through, until now: I wanted to devote as much attention to it as possible. And now I wish I had. I've had Flood... seriously on the brain all night tonight, in a bizarrely intense way, and a NEW one: from a "human angle", although The Man Himself might snark gleefully at that phrase. But I think you know what I mean.
Honestly? Some parts I skimmed through, and THEN went back and re-read; they literally made me cringe in sympathy: and if the mark of a good writer is "making the reader feel sympathy for the protagonists" in a way they normally wouldn't... then you, my dear, are an unrecognized genius[although, from the "Matrix Refugee" poem and everything else, we knew this already.] I saw the scene settings in my mind's eye, down to the colors of the light: that, also, is an amazing skill. And your dialogue is[am I really SURPRISED?] beautiful.
'“If we did that, we would be acting no better than the System does to so many of our kind.”'
Thank you. For getting that idea out. You know me: I'm heartily sick of "Oh Em gee, only the poor oppressed innocent humans". ["Help, help, I'm being repressed!"]
'a group had tried to hack into the Architect’s dark tower and seize control of the system'
The...Cathedral. I've see-- seen this, er, in my mind's eye before. *clears throat.* I would... LOVE to discuss this with you at length.
"not because I’m a Twins-fan, but because I got a certain gleeful, horrified jag while I was writing that bit."
...you ARE inside my head.
"The author is not responsible for the opinions of the characters: I‘m just here to tell the story"
...WELL said, MR. You win at hell, you win the Internet.
Or, as one of my radio sound bites says: "YOU have won a FREE PHONE CALL! Al you have to do to claim your prize is PICK UP THE PHONE!"
I NEVER do MPreg, ever, and of the unlikely sources[no pun intended]... but this is... well... really excellent. It HURTS, in that poignant sort of way, when I'd expected... I don't know *what* I expected. More snark, more humor? Eh. But maybe I'm biased.
*bows.* Excellent. NOW I'm caught up... so when I get a notification, I'll run my sorry ** right the hell over here. Because NOW, I HAVE to see how this goes...
