abuseCogsworth: I knew it! I knew it was foolish to get our hopes up!

Lumiere: Maybe it would've been better if she'd never come at all.

You know, I was partially expecting some sort of "Where's Chip? He was here just a second ago" kind of line.

abuseI really loved that. Lumiere is also my favorite character, and I might have written it this same way if I had written it. The scenes you wrote fit so well with the scenes in the movie. I wrote a short story called "The Spell is Broken" which rather goes with this story. Tell me what you think of it?

abuseOMG! That was such a great rewrite. You really interacted with Lumiere and Babette's feelings. This story almost made me cry

abuseGreat story! Lumiere is my favorite character from BatB. Especially since every time I see/imagine him, I can see Saluk. Especially when he's like 'dinner, invite her to dinner'. Even as I was reading this, I could imagine Saluk almost crying and everything.lol

abuseAw...that ended kinda sad!! But that was a sad moment. I just need to say, I LOVE Beauty and the Beast!! I love this fic,it didn't take any spark away from the classic. Great job!!

abuseVery, very nice. Lumiére's thoughts at the end were especially moving; I especially liked this: "With metal sticks and burning candles where his hands should be, it didn’t enhance his love life." Cogsworth's comforting of him was well done as well. Thanks for posting, Beth Palladino

abuseVery well-written, and very moving. Nice job! I tend to agree with LumBabsFan that Lumiere wouldn't think of himself first at a time like this, but of course it's open to interpretation. It's a very touching story, very well done!

abuseOh I am SO definitely loving this very much. First of all, you just scored major plus points with me writing about the servants; it's great to feel like I'm not alone. They're such fun characters to work with, even in sad and poignant moments like this where you can explore their other emotions that Disney didn't show, like sadness and disappointment. You did that so well. Having written the "musical equivalent" to this moment, I must say I'm pretty close to tears as I was when I wrote my version. You truly harnessed the emotion of the moment. Only thing I have to say that I don't quite agree with is Lumiere's moment of crankiness and selfishness there. IMO, he's human...or...yeah you know what I mean, LOL. I don't doubt he has that emotional capacity. But having put Babette in there, his first concern would most likely be HER, not himself. You had him thinking about her for a moment it seemed, which is a plus, but this is definitely a time, IMO, where they would be more concerned about each other than themselves. All that is totally just an opinion of course. Overall, you did such beautiful work! Hope to see more of it soon!
