oh man here i thought it was an anakin redemption fic...oh well still god loved it. ^_^

I dunno, it wasn't so much alternate universe as a different construction of the original universe. It was an interesting take, but I like the original story better. This one gave Anakin much too much time to reflect and as such, he just seemed idiotic in making bad choices. The whole reason the original story worked for me was because everything happened all at once, Anakin had no time to think or reflect, no time to make really bad decisions, and in that way it was believable that there was still good in him. But this Anakin had no good in him - even his realization at the end didn't save him because he was too far gone. This Anakin could never become a conflicted Darth Vader, only a completely evil one and he would not be redeemed by his son in my opinion, he would be forever doomed. He specifically made choices (bad as they were) that were reasoned and full of intent. Any helplessness or inability to control himself seemed forced because he'd too much time to think about his actions and the outcome. Mace's death was less fulfilling than in the movie for this reason.

But it was a nice try. :)

Excellent story. Both "The Dark New Order" and "Republic Twilight" were two of the few stories that I constantly checked for updates. I should have left a review sooner in the story (sorry), but I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. Fantastic. Looking forward to reading more from you in the future.

Nothing good/bad/etc EVER comes from Mustafar, GET THEM OFF!...please, please, PLEASE get them far, far away from the rock and hire the Death Star to blow it up...after they're away from it, cuz this is just gonna end with someone burning and dying, or a loathsome 'suck-hiss' and that would be BAD.

I could not agree with you more, she was little more than a glorified incubator. George could have come up with a better way to kill her off than just saying she died from a broken heart, I mean, come on, this is the girl who led her people to victory against the Trade Federation and ruled Naboo at fourteen, there is no way that she would just curl up and die behind Anakin's betrayal. Still, please don't put Anakin in that horrible suit.

Anakin has issues that love and Padme cannot fix, (i.e. anger management problems that he needs to see a shrink for). I am glad that you came up with a plot that better explains Anakin's fall to the dark side and a better reason as to why Padme might have died instead of just saying that she died of a broken heart even though she was medically healthy.

That was a great chapter. I love that how Anakin feels about Padme is what brings him out of Dark Jedi mode. It's so sweet. And that he could realise she was pregnant - just like that - and the happiness is brought out in him, if only momentarily. Great chapter, can't wait for more!
