A very interesting story. You have captured the essence of the characters and how they would react very well.

Wow. This is pretty deep - and very insightful. It looks like you've really thought about how a person changes when they kill someone, and Kaoru's reaction is really IC. The way you write Kenshin is really sweet, too, and your narrative style is good.

Bravo! This was an awesome story. Not only did Kaoru show her strength by defeating that man, but she also helped bridge the gap between them. I could just about picture her doing such a thing. I also liked the way you wrote Kenshin in this story. He was pretty close to being in character. Especially the part when he blamed himself for Kaoru having to killing one of his enemy's to protect him. Keep up the great work!_

Scary. Really dark ending. Not depressing, just dark. Still good, though!

Sir Gawain of Camelot 11/13/05 . chapter 6
aww... this is an unbelivably sweet and sad story. Kenshin and Koaru are both so in charactor, and since you're writing from their point of veiw, alternatly, that isn't an easy feat. I just love your writing style.

It's interesting to see the range of emotions Kaoru is having, with her grief, guilt, anger, and now some understanding. Megumi asking Kenshin for help in understanding was thoughtful, even if he was unable to help her. Any idea if Sano has killed someone before (and would therefore also be able to help Kaoru)? My guess would be yes, he was probably too young during the war, but it seems likely that some people would have died when he was a fight merchant. I've read through volume 20 of the manga & seen all the anime episodes, but I don't recall a clear mention of whether he's killed anyone.

I noticed several typos and a couple of non-capitalized names, but nothing too bad.

Wow, what an ending! You sure know how to close chapters...wow. I'm really not sure what else to say; you did a great job with this chapter as you have done with the others (and sorry I haven't been able to review them; I hadn't read them 'til now). Anyway, like I said, you did a really good job...and again, I loved the ending. I'll be watching for your next update!

That's got to hurt! Not only did Kaoru kill a man, but she did it with a broken bokken. I wonder how this will affect her view of her 'swords that protect' style of fighting.

I like the way you've had the characters respond to the situation. Kaoru's boldness & Kenshin's anger in the first chapter may have been a little different from the manga (not necessarily bad, sometimes refreshing), but the way they're all trying to help Kaoru is exactly how I'd expect them to react.

As for a constructive criticism, it is a minor detail but Kenshin's instructions to Yahiko seemed a little redundant. He asked him to come with him, just to send him back to Sano again. If he was trying to reduce Yahiko's exposure to the body, I think he'd wait until Sano returned to send him to get Megumi, or send Yahiko. Sending Yahiko to see if Sano was done disposing of the body meant that there was a reasonable chance that he still wasn't and Yahiko would see it again. I wasn't sure which meaning you were intending, since Kenshin's thoughts were centering on Kaoru's response to the body & not Sano & Yahiko's.
