Awesome! And a very original interpretation of that smile. Personally, I think that even if Raito killed L, L won, because he had bee right all along, and his suspicions were confirmed in the end. Even if it was too late. If Raito had really wanted to, he could have let die without letting him know. L would still have had doubts, even if small ones.

Ah, yes, sounds like Yagami. He's so...well, morally ambiguous would be a good term. You write him well. I like the idea that he smiled on purpose. It adds to his "everything I do is planned and precise" persona.

Scary but wonderful. While L's death really ruined me, at the same time I can't help smiling and thinking 'Kira's won' and that L emerges as the mouse in the end. In some way I thought Kira might miss L too, as L was probably the only one who could match him in wits and tennis skills. Love this fic ^^

I loved this! You got Raito's personality perfect. I especially liked the ending... as much as he hated L for being his "enemy", I always felt that he did see him partially as a friend as well. I hope to see you writing other Death Note fics in the future! ;)

M, I liked it. I was thinking much the same thing when reading that scene in the scanlation, so it's nice to see my thoughts on Light's conflicted feelings written out so nicely. Thanks for that. Death Note is definitely morally skewed. And Light is a nutcase. And I miss L dammit!

I'm still grieving for him (I just read chapter 58 a few days ago) and this helps salve the wound a bit.

I NEVER thought of it that way. EVER. And it's written there like that and suddenly it makes so much sense it's just incredible.
