KrisEleven 2006-11-30 . chapter 1My turn to be the reviewer. he he he. Mua ha ha ha *cough*...
I really like this idea. I totally agree with the A/N at the bottom, and I like that although she always thought about him, she went through her life just waiting to be with him again. That is really, really cute.
"She remembered him in the school yard, in the puddles of rain on the asphalt and the teacher’s precise instructions."
"She remembered him as her time wore on, each day drawing him nearer."
I really like those two lines. They're beautiful.
This was pretty short, but it would have seemed repetitive if you'd tried to draw it out longer, so I can't really complain about that. Although I will. Because I like this fic and it came to an end really soon. And because I can. I'm like that.
Grammer and spelling and your sentences are all good. There's not really a way to say if she's in character or not, because you chose to do this as a kind of narrative, so that's all good.
I liked it! I wish you wrote more under this, or under JatD, so I'd be able to read more of your works. I guess I'll just have to figure out what Ace Lightning is, eh?

ChildlikeEmpress 2005-12-28 . chapter 1some people think that suicide is romantic, and some people, even those who aren't depressed like to fantasize about it, knowing that they never would do it. but people in today's society have sort of been brought up that way, what with "romeo and juliet" and countless greek legends, fairy tales and the like. that's my 2 cents. now, i would like to tell you that i love your fic, and i think it's very refreshing to find fics where chihiro dies naturally. i also like fics where she goes on with her life, gets married and has kids, and then, when she goes to the afterlife, then she meets him. though i will admit i don't mind a well written suicide, the fandom here is so polluted by them, that they have lost their signifigence, if they had any to begin with.
again, great job, awesome fic.

a thousand winds 2005-11-23 . chapter 1This is lovely. Beautifully evocative with a sense of wistfulness and yet not at all self-pitying. The juxtaposition of Chihiro's supernatural experience with her also getting on with her life is excellently done.
(P.S. I agree. WTF? R+J *failed* as a romance, people. Please, read the damn play.)
(P.P.S. You're a Doctor Who fan? Sorry for the OT, but it was nice to see a fellow fan in the Spirited Away section. *waves*) |
BookwormRose 2005-11-07 . chapter 1Aw, tht is sad, and very well written. You are right, suicide is not romantic |
Scarabbug 2005-10-31 . chapter 1I think it's beautiful. I'm not a fan of this dom (yet, anyway) but I like the way this is written, it's lovely, and the repetition of remembering really, really works! What can I say, it rocks?
I say Chihiro could've done something more with her life than just file papers :p but she had a good life it seems. Damn, now I wanna see this film.
Enjoyable fic, onto my faves it goes :D |
Blue-Inked Frost 2005-10-30 . chapter 1This is a very, very pretty drabble. I don't know the fandom and I haven't a clue what's going on beyond the most basic, but the imagery--especially that second sentence, and the repetition of "remembered" is nice. Very...poetic, in tone, a very beautiful piece.
Suicide is bad, obviously, but brooding over them for the rest of your life isn't wonderful either... :P |
