onoM 2009-05-27 . chapter 10"A writer stood before me with a smile for a pen.
He said he'd read a million souls, and never wrote again."
Thank you for your soul. It is beautiful.
If I may ask, will Mana ever leave her 'house'? Her character has resonated with me in a very profound way; I'd like very much to read her again some day.

Squire of Gothos 2009-02-15 . chapter 9After reading the live-journal stuff, and rereading the entire thing in one sitting, it all makes sense (I'm just slow). Beautiful story |
 Squire of Gothos 2009-02-13 . chapter 1wow
I just finished reading the last three (four?) chapters in one sitting, and afterwards I just stared blankly for a while.
Then I went to your profile to look for your other stories (darn you, you're like heroine) and I passed by the 'Normal to Reality' story, and when I read its preview tag, 'Look at me, I'm right here' I just about broke into tears. Damnit, I'm going to reread this story and try to find an Asuka-happy point, and stop there.

I beg of you, tell me something happy about Asuka so I'll feel better, please tell me tell me te- |
Squire of Gothos 2009-02-13 . chapter 10This is the closest thing I've read to an actual NGE story since Darckredd's stories. This outshines anything I've read. Anyway, I'm not saying anything that's not been said before, so just add this to the feathers in your cap. Honestly, this story bent my mind so much I can't comment on anything in particu- wait that's not true. Some people in their reviews said they hated your, um, strange and compelling writing style with its colorful descriptions. Don't listen to those people ;-) Just thought I'd cast my vote with those who loved your writing style. Somehow you managed to make every chapter full of those strange descriptions, and never reuse anything.
Pure concentrated awesomeness |
Sash'Rahaal 2009-01-31 . chapter 10This was good. Incredibly, awesomely GOOD. I deeply enjoyed this story from start to finish, and just try to stop me from biting into every other story in your profile now that I'm finished this one. |
 Devaro Ayanami 2008-11-30 . chapter 10Wow...
That's all I can say really. It was...I'm not sure...wow.
Twists and turn, jumping from one reality to the next, forward and backward in time.
Always making me ask if THIS time it's real, or just another dream or hallucination.
Amazing!
I've not read this good of a brain-twister in a long while.
The only negative I could think of would be that I am not sure what the ending was. What happened to Asuak, Shinji, Mana, "Kaworu", and the others?
Still, despite or perhap BECAUSE of the that: Wow.
Keep Strong! |
NemesisZero 2008-05-02 . chapter 9Wow this is heavy... like trying to burrow one's way through a metric ton of blueberry marmalade using only the underdeveloped musculature of one's eyebrows.
Reading this makes me feel like I'm well beyond drunk and crashed out on a far-too-comfy couch in the back corner of a party hosted by people I know but who don't know me. I think the stream of consciousness presented here is just close enough to my own to register as something other than white noise and just far enough away from my rhythm to interfere.
It is... agreeable. |
This is my name 2008-04-18 . chapter 10Spoilers
So, Shinji is in an alternate reality created in some other dimension during Third Impact. His body was still in the real world, but Asuka killed it when she realized that he would never return. Asuka then destroyed all the AT fields in the real world, since she couldn't have Shinji. Mana, Asuka, Maya, Yukie, and countless other people are trapped between the two worlds. Mihiro was somehow partially Rei, and So was actually Kaworu. All of the characters mentioned so far are technically dead. Shinji, Hikari, Kensuke, Mihiro, and So just keep living their lives, and I imagine Misato, Ritsuko, while Mana just... exists. How close am I?
On an unrelated note, I think the funniest line in this story was "The image of a giant rabbit named Frank popped into his head." I'm not sure why, but the reference had me burst out laughing. |
Wynk 2008-02-19 . chapter 1 Thank you so much for the explanation of the story. I never thought to check your journal until now, which is why I'm writing this about 7 months late.
I was very impressed with the mystery inherent in your story. It might be my lack of insight, but while I knew there were multiple worlds reliant on Shinji's continued existance, the explanation of the primary, secondary, and tertiary existances really cleared up, well, alot.
I also thank you for the "understandable" explanation as to what occurred at the ending, and where Mana currently exists. Without author imput, I'd be left with making hypothesis, which can drive me insane when their is no way to verify its accuracy. |
Lord Yenma 2007-08-29 . chapter 10Totally surreal, capturing the feel of the Instrumentality and the madness within. What is truth? What is life? Which story are we living in? Who are we? Questions asked, but never answered, devolving from coherency to madness, and at the very end, a glimpse at the possible path to sanity. Truly a work that captures NGE. |
Allen 2007-08-24 . chapter 1 Your story made my head explode.
In a good way.
Once you got into the metaphysical stuff, you lost me...
I think you have good story telling skills; however, the story you were trying to tell was too fricken' weird. I think you need to sorta "dumb down" your stories, and your writings a bit. The words , metaphors, and references in general are extremely... disorienting.
It seems a like a good fic, just really hard to understand. =/ |
VespaRiderXephon-01 2007-06-24 . chapter 10fing A, my friend, fing A. Sarcastically funny from beginning to end. You're writing to me is as entertaining as ** blowing up, and that's pretty freaking entertaining. It's great how you mix sarcasm with wit and sprinkle on just a little bit of hyperbole inside, really. Just...really, really confusing, is all.
Overall, better than pirate, but just a little short of ninja.(cuz half the time I had to put this thing away and spend another half hour or so figuring out what the hell just happened. Not that I don't like to think, but having to think that much just gets in the way of enjoying the story, you know.)
However, let me get this straight:
In this story, there are three levels of existence. Primary, secondary, and tertiary.
Primary is the "real world", where shinji is in a coma, and may or may not have the whole world revolving around him.
Secondary is where most of the story takes place. A little piece of sub-existence which shinji's mind concieved and so who's (which? I'm not too sure what should be used here) existence entirely depends on how much shinji actually likes it.
Tertiary is actually a little pocket dimension directly linked to primary and essentually functions as an intermediary for transferral between secondary and primary, when direct transitioning just doesn't cut it.
Am I somewhat close? Cuz this thing's been really confusing me. Also, I've got a couple more questions.
Am I right that by the end of the story, Mihiro is possessed and is actually part Mihiro and part Rei Ayanami?
Who's perspective was the scene in the last chapter from, where he/she was talking about making a house with Mihiro, and something about a separate house with nana which he/she's afraid to open cuz she might be on the other side?
In the scene in tertiary after Shinji left where Mana confronts ACTRESS, does Yukie (who was supposed to have been turned into LCL) actually randomly appear, or does ACTRESS change into Yukie?
In the course of this chapter, Shinji wakes up, what? 3 times. Does he wake up each time in Secondary, or some other plane of existence, because I don't see how the waking up sequence works if he's technically still in the same plane of existence every single time.
Lastly, did Shinji ever actually meet Souichi Nakajima (Kaworu Nagisa)? I think Shinji may have talked to him during that part where he was just saved from the wreckage of a truck and some person was talking to him from the top of a sign (?). I'm still not even sure that was Souichi, or even if that really happened or was just a dream sequence or something.
Right ho, thank you for reading (and hopefully answering) my questions. And I'm looking forward to your reply, or I'll just try looking in your live journal. Yes, I've actually read (part?) of your profile. OMG |
VespaRiderXephon-01 2007-06-22 . chapter 4this is undeniably entertaining. Thank you for this. This...this is a blessing to the critically bored. Once again, thank you.
Just one question, though. Who's yukie? and OC? |
Second Harrier 2007-05-12 . chapter 10 Very well written, and, from what I can tell, cogently plotted.
But it made no goddamn sense. |
squiddy 2007-05-11 . chapter 10 nope, no idea at all what was going on in those last few chapters.
none
beyond that it seemed like a good fic though |
