I see from the last update date that this is likely to remain unfinished but I do want to say what a lovely & engaging story it has been these past 19 chapters. I really enjoyed it! ^^

I think your story is GREAT! a very real plot (could have actually been the secuel, it would surely have been better than Mulan II), no spelling mistakes, you also keep the real personality of the characters instead of making them your own... just great, I have no other words to describe this story! owever I've seen that you've abandoned this story a bit...since 2007 you haven't writen a new chapter...what a shame... this story is very promissing! I think you should keep it going!

Wow! What a great story. I like how you have tied this in with historical events and have kept the more serious aspects of Mulan. I love the relationship with Mulan and Shang here - very tender moments yet also mutual respect. I guess I know how the story will turn out b/c you told us about the real history behind it, but I would love to see more. Update soon? I think you have a real flair for this - especially great job with the dialog.

I know it's been over a year, but any chance of an update on this? I've really enjoyed it so far, and I'm desperate to see how it finishes - I'm loving all the charecters, and the storyline, and the way no one is quite who they seem to be.

This is so far one of the best Mulan fics I have ever read. I think that the plot is excellent, and that you are a master writer. I began to read this fic last night and I could not stop reading it, but I had homework to do and I had to quit for the sake of my grades, but I fell asleep thinking about how the story would turn out, and here I am during a free class reading your story, which will definitely be added to my favorites. Congratulations on the good work. =)

In this story and The Betrothed you used the phrase "I swear on my ancestors twelve generations back . . ." That was kind of funny.
What will happen next? If they can't find Li Jing or Li Zhi-xi, who will be the new Emperor? Li Shang? What about the rebel movement? The people they have talked to so far seem to be loyal to the Emperor. Please post more as soon as possible.
