*laughs* You're not the only author to use the Sorting Hat as a Horcrux. The fic "Harry Potter and the Nightmares of Future Past" by S'Tarkan also used it. It a great fic, although it's unfinished.

sad isn't it. the last book was sadly unappealling, she really lost her touch.

and i have to admit, that would've been rather cool...the hat to be the 7th horcrux. great fic!

I like the idea of the Sorting Hat being the final Horcrux, but I am nearly positive that the whole "a Horcrux can be a living being" thing will come into play. I think Harry (or rather his scar) will be the final Horcrux. In fact, I read a story with an alternate idea on the prophesy, and came up with my own interpretation.

It says "the one with the power to defeat the Dark Lord is coming" - then describes someone who is clearly Harry, although it isn't for sure until you get to the marking as equal line.

It also says "One must die at the had of the Other, for neither can live while the Other survives". (emphasis added by me) It also says "the One with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord is coming" and repeats the born as the seventh month dies line.

I personally think Harry will probably end up dying to get rid of the Horcrux in the seventh book - he's the one with the power to defeat the Dark Lord, the one capable of getting rid of all of his Horcruxes. But I think maybe Neville will end up actually killing Voldemort - he's the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord. He meets the born as the seventh month dies qualification and would be underestimated enough to get close enough to kill Voldemort.

Well, that's just me rambling, I like your one shot idea.

Very, very interesting - I absolutely love Harry's method of making a list by including descriptive adjectives. :) Well done as usual. :)

i thought Nagini was a horcrux but i think your idea was cool.i don't think harry scar could be a ok it can be but has long has he doesn't have to is a hero to live for ever not dieLOL

Hmm, I thought Nagini was a horcrux too, Dumbledore seemed pretty sure of that when he said it.

Wow:) A really cool story, noone really knows what the horcruxes will end up being:) Though I personally belive that what belongs to Gryffindor might be the sword, but the Sorting Hat is also a good option:) By the way you forgot Slytherin's necklace that was a Horcrux as well, from HBP:) Keep up the great work and update as soon as you possibly can:) May you be blessed with inspiration and have fun writing:)

Poor Sorting Hat! Are they going to destroy it? That will be sad. :'( I don't even think I thought about the sorting hat being the seventh horcrux. Though, I haven't thought of it much. :)

I love how Harry was staring at the hat when he thought that it might be his scar. And the mention of how they concidered the sword that was pulled out of the hat, but not the hat itself.
