Fuzzy Eared 5/4/07 . chapter 15I had the same problem with this story as I did with your first: things come together too readily and whatnot, but rather than nitpick, how about I mention how I almost cried while reading the final lines of the epilogue? I liked this fic much better than the first one I reviewed - about the demons - very creative. |
kyari 4/6/07 . chapter 15that was a REALLY good story! you are a very talented writer-. |
Kilandra Iosis 8/29/06 . chapter 6Ack! That can't be the end! Too much left unanswered, questions flowing through my mind... need more! MORE! Well done! I don't like yaoi, but this was so well done, I have to tell you that I am impressed, and I loved your story. I've read some where people completely oc the character, it was so refreshing that you did credit to Kyuuzou. Thank you! Great job! |
Maruading Storyteller 4/11/06 . chapter 15That was pretty good, I've only seen two episodes but I still liked your stroy! Ja Ne! |
narrizan 2/27/06 . chapter 15I had to read this all in one go. A lovely read. I like the subtleties and undercurrents of the relationship between Kanbei and Kyuuzou. Although there was that kiss(rather two) earlier, but that is just me I guess. Thank you for not making this slushy, therefore keeping them IC. That said, there is a slightly fast pacing to the story, and I thought you could have expanded slightly your barckdrop for you OC. Of course that is just me being greedy for more! _ I do like the AU insert and that you have it end the same way as the series. It is one of the only ways that one could write in a Redcoat fic within canon - so kudos to you for that too! As someone said earlier I AM very surprised that this hasn't got more reviews! *Waves Kyuuzou flag* Anyway I will shoo myself away! and let you get on with stuffs! - zan |
Samuraiko 1/13/06 . chapter 15Another story that I just had to read all in one go. And damn your eyes again, because this was frickin' awesome. I promise not to throttle you this time, although beating you senseless with a boken is still an option. :) I do like, very much; you've gotten that cold, no-thought sense that most warriors attain after a lifetime of battle (and some have even before they get to that point). Ironically enough, my favorite chapters are FADING and the epilogue. Don't ask me why. Michelle aka Samuraiko |
Ash 12/10/05 . chapter 15 What can I say... this is really one of the best fics I've read on this site... |
DraejonSoul 12/1/05 . chapter 15Like I said before with your other stories, this one also presented a novelty, storyline-wise. And I, not being into yaoi, actually appreciated how you downplay the yaoi bits in the story (... well, there's their kiss, but that wasn't really overblown. ) Though what I noticed, is, like one of your reviewers, is that the pacing went a little too quick after Kyuuzo's conversion to Nobuseri. There were hardly any character dialogue or interaction, and it takes some time before you figure out whose point of view it is. Formatting and grammar you'd already know since this is an earlier fic, right? Then there's also about the villain. He started out strong at the beginning, but he turned out to be a snivelling coward at the end. I'm sure you planned to have him written that way, but I was hoping that there'd be some sort of backstory to him in the previous chapters so us readers can have an idea of what he's like, and that he won't turn out as two-dimensional as some would do. I know it can be hard to flesh out a villain like that, but I think a good villain is one of the keys to a successful fic. But I do hope I didn't get you down with my comments. I still do want to see more of your work in the future. *waves Kyuuzo flag* |
Jade Cooper 11/29/05 . chapter 15Wooahh! That was just excellent! So bittersweet! I knew you would imply Kyuu's death and I knew I would not manage to withstand the sad truth. I was really near to start crying...! Especially with the perfect sad music in my ears... (Michiyuki [instrumental] from 'Loveless' - a really recommendable theme for this ff) Hope to read soon more from you! :) Greetings, Jade |
darkestbeforedawn 11/23/05 . chapter 15that was to put it rather simply, wonderful and definately different from what i've read on this site. i applaud you, and it's sad to see how very few people have reviewed this, because it's just so /IC/. i want to say thank you for not making either kambei and kyuuzo into a snivelling lovesick fool. as hilarious as it would be, i am /extremely/ glad you didn't. i appreciate some of the subtle hints you snuck in, and your very creative AU. it ended the same way, but i liked how you developed it. very nice, surreal touch. the only complaint i would have is that kambei was a bit bland, as were the other samurai- but that can be forgiven because it centers mostly on kyuuzo & kambei. it's also a bit fast-paced, as if everything was rushed, but that's also because the series started to pick up speed after the seven were elected. but really, this was /wonderfully/ refreshing. please continue the good work! |
